This physics video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the equation of continuity. It explains how to calculate the fluid velocity when the cross-sectional area changes. It also explains how to solve problems using the mass flow rate and volume flow rate of a fluid. This tutorial contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

i think the relation of velocity and area something like this Given: mass we can consider mass is conserved acceleration area density Solution: F=m*a Pressure= F/Area Velocity= √(2*Pressure/Density)

So... it appears that a butterfly valve defies the continuity equation. Now, I am assuming, of course, that it doesn't, but I'm not sure why. If I put a butterfly valve on a pipe, I can regulate the volume flow in the pipe. As I slowly close the the butterfly valve, the volume flow rate decreases on the downstream side of the valve. It seems that slowly closing a butterfly valve is basically equivalent to decreasing the diameter of the pipe, so I would expect a higher speed but an equivalent volume flow rate. Where is my understanding skewed?

why did you convert the value of R1 in question No.3 part b and u said before that if the units of R on the both side are same we shouldnt change the unit from cm to m

becuz now only have 1 R not two . We don't convert it if the r on both sides becuz thier units can be cut off . but now only have 1R so we need to change it
