Contractor test study tips
I fumbled my way through the process of getting my contractor license and becoming a business owner. It was very difficult and I hope this video makes your journey a little bit easier.
If you want to see some of the videos of the things I've built, check out my VanDam Construction channel.
www.utclc.com is the place that helped me with my license. They are located in Taylorsville Utah but travel to Saint George every 6 weeks and do classes for a few days.
Link to find the business and law book.

Thank you. This video was helpful. I watch so many videos and people keep skipping over the small details and that’s always a thing that throw me off. I’ve had to watch five different videos from five different people talking about the exact same thing to get all the information that’s needed. Good video

Thanks for the advice, saved me a step. I've passed my Buisness and Law and thought the same thing with the books on the contractor test. Just took my first attempt on the the test and got a 55%. I was searching online for a online study guide and found your video. Signing up for a class in Salt Lake on Monday so thank you for your info.

Hi, I just saw your video I really appreciate for all your information that you have share. I been taking the test for over a year, and I still can pass it. I spent over $5000,or maybe even more courses, classes books and I still can't pass my test. But what I really noticed is that every time I take my test my score keeps increasing by 1-2%. Now my question is, which is the book that you mentioned on the video, so I can buy it, at least use.i really don't mind.. I'm hungry to learn more about this business and I'm not giving up. Thank you 😊

Thanks man! I'm in Logan. Did you take the NASCLA exam thru the PSI testing center, or was it a different exam back in 2017? The test in Utah now is the NASCLA test (accepted in 15 or so states for licensure now) and it's open-book. There are 20+ books you can take with you into the exam room! I'm trying to figure out whether to buy the $1800 book bundle or not. I'm going to look into the place in Taylorsville you mentioned. I'd love to bend your ear about the profession sometime if you're down.

I have read the book that was given to me & I still haven’t been able to pass the general b test. What would you recommend? It’s my 3rd time & I haven’t been able to pass the exam. I haven’t found any good study guides to help me pass the exam. The law part I passed it the first time I took it. And I been in the field for 10+ years & I can’t seem to pass the general b test.

Don't be discouraged. The test is created from more than a dozen huge, confusing books. I failed twice also. I broke down and spent about $500 for a class. The class had practice tests that I took over and over, some of which had over 500 questions. I just tested until I could pass everything with 100% and scheduled the test for the next day, while the information was fresh. Good luck! Even if you don't pass this next time, keep trying, you'll get it eventually.

Let's not lump ALL online courses in that group. LOL. I'm biased because I sell online prep courses. I've helped 10's of 1000's pass their contrator's exams on their first attempt. It works so well that I have a 110% money back guarantee that you'll pass on your first attempt. These exams like the NASCLA exam are just a book test. It's all about knowing where to find the answers in the books and knowing which 5% you need to study and which 95% you need to skip.
