In this video I will be showing footage of Contractors Showdown on Quest 3 and Steam VR, along with a brief side by side comparison.
Not to show which is better, so much as to show that they are both very good.

What I find most insane is that the devs have even said that this is built for quest 2. I'm sure quest 3 enhancements are to come.

Yeah... it is crazy good either way. I am surprised it didn't come to PSVR2. They are currently working on getting it on Rift PCVR (I found out after I released the video) so maybe PSVR2 and a Quest 3 enhanced mode are coming after that? Here is to hoping!

Quest 3 could definitely handle sharper draw distance, but the overall quality to graphics would need to remain close to the same to achieve that while maintaining its current FPS.

@@joshuakhuffmaster-whyte2847 yeah, jsut as breachers did. A overall lighting update and some cheap post process blooom effect would be more than enough.

The Meta PCVR (Oculus Rift) version is coming, and yes, the Devs confirmed Crossbuy just like it is with Contractors. Great Video! The differences are minimal. PC got some better textures and shadows, but nothing crazy! The Quest version is amazing, especially when you think it is just the headset doing it all! 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you for that! It looks like the Meta PC version is just being delayed, but it is crossbuy! That is great news. I agree. The Quest 3 version is very solid, and yes, while the pc version is a little sharper and more polished, the Quest 3 version is awesome and functionally just as good. @FFtakeshimaru true, Quest Games Optimizer does miracles! Just don't understand why the Devs don't push the hardware to its max 🤷🏻‍♂️

But. Oculus MAKES the Quests. So they are making a new Rift Model then beyond the Rift cv1 and Rift S?

I had my quest 2 in a box for over a year as remote desktop never worked right. Some games worked but stuff like beat saber just would not work. I actually picked this up on the quest store for the 2, then saw the steam link app. I installed that and was overjoyed I could now play all my VR pc games again from when I had an original rift. I refunded the meta version and picked it up on steam vr and it does look better.

Yeah, I am always torn about what the best way to run Steam games on Quest is. Virtual Desktop does work for me, but Steam VR runs fine too. I can run airlink as well, but that seems to run worse for Steam games. In general, whatever works, works. Glad to see you are enjoying the game. It is so much fun!

Great video! The framerate of the Quest 3 video is definitely lower, but I am curious is that simply an aspect of recording on the Quest 3 direct?

That is a good question. I'm afraid I don't know how to test it. It makes perfect sense that the added process of recording on the headset is causing framerate drop.

As far as I know… The internal recording on the quest is capped in both res and at 60fps. So no way to make a direct comparison from any online video. Internally the q3 gameplay and framerate are close to flawless.

@@Kymlaar I haven’t been “addicted to a game in ages”. But I’m genuinely loving showdown. I have it on both pc and on the q3. TBH. Having to boot the computer, update everything. Sync with airlink and steam. Then lose access to meta friend chats etc is a PITA. The long distance fidelity is better but it’s clunkier and has more bugs. The stand alone version is very polished. I WISH they had duos. As getting 1 friend online in VR is hard enough little own 2. The game is popular enough, force it to select your lowest ping server. Lag is definitely on the higher side. It’s acceptable most of the time however. Be warned though. People are getting good and move around like PC players of cod. Jumping, sliding. You need practice and patience. Goodluck!

Waiting for PSVR2 version. Needs adaptive triggers so the guns can feel real.

Adaptive triggers and head haptics would be insane on this. I have been looking for news to see if it is coming to PSVR2, but haven't found anything official yet. Crossing Fingers!
