Some houses, the lights are not wired to the switches (and never are in the ones you build, until you do it) but can be wired up by using tthe Q key while looking at the switch. it will make an electricity-looking connection...look at the light(s) you want to add to the switch and left-click, then Q again to finish. Then the switch should function. (As a side note, you can only hook up one switch to any given light, but a switch can control more than one light)

QRusty Champaign I don't why you're still selling stuff to the pawn shop! You know you can smash it right?! You know it's all worth Ten times as much as the pawn shop will ever give you if you compress it don't you?? Broken furniture is your bread and butter more than the trash that you're so happy to compress is ...which is like pennies when compared. You can smash it all but there's catch! The broken furniture belongs to the house owner ...and it will until the mission is complete. Sure you can sell at the pawnshop because the game handles the pawn transaction a bit differently than if you tried to smash it. But if you wait until AFTER the job the ownership of all that extracted furniture will be transferred to you to do with as you please! This is the time that you will be able to --and should smash it.
