Great video Brandon, I can see how much you’ve learned from your Dad, your speech intonation definitely have hints of your father the legendary Chris Voss

1:10 - I think the American South has something for this as well (like the English "being as rude as you want as long as you're nice") - like how some southerners use the phrase "well, bless your heart" delivered sweetly and genteely with sweetness and a genuine smile for all kinds of situations when their meaning is sarcasm, criticism, condemnation, etc. 😛

Thank you Brandon. I moved back to Los Angeles a few weeks ago, and have been shocked by the escalating anger and aggression coming out of the homeless crisis. These tactics need to be employed by every resident because we can’t wait for the bureaucracy to realize that it shouldn’t have sold us down the river

Brandon thank you for your time and making this resource available. I appreciate the reminder of who the adversary is, as a natural assertive I tend to get emotional and forget this.

Its not what you say but how you say it... Reminds me of the Bob Newhart show, where he would be called horrible names by someone with a smile on their face. The incongruity was hilarious.

I learn this tone thing. Bit recently i have found being confident direct and assertive to some degree has worked better for me the rather than soft spoken

Tone isn't always full proof but it's a place to start. mirroring seems to be a way to get qualifying. It depends on what to go to when percentage of the time it's not full proof. Boss, tone is a judgement that seems to be authorized by listening.

You look to have control of your outcome. The tone of voice is what you decided to think about. The only thing I can do is listen to the knowledge here. The best knowledge comes from theory and experiences. You can get this agreement applied so that it's supposed to have the regard that's not unfortunate. You may need to know that listening can make somebody feel acknowledged. There's a difference between listening to somebody and doing what somebody says. How much do you understand that?

Would it be ridiculous to say there are hybrids of all (3) "tones" depending on the timing and or position of the deal.

No. I'd describe myself as such. Absolutely expectable. But, since it's a modal state, you can adapt based on their trajectories.

I’ve heard BSG answer this before. They suggest to use a label- it seems like you’re in deep thought about this. It looks like there’s something preventing from moving forward?

Brandon Boss, it's fair to say that it's overbearing. You just seem to be introspective. It's that time that is the variable on this one. 3 negotiator types is gonna be the one to study.

0:04 Please, do what you preach! You use a crappy microphone and a low definition webcam! It's ironic isn't? I'm sorry, I have to leave a thumbs down. The content is, as always, outstanding, but it's so painful to watch. Make everybody a Christmas gift: upgrade your video and sound quality for 2022. Alex
