@Byleth you are right! I'm actually a part of a support group and I have seen this more than I can count. The abusive partners keep app in their partners' phones and trackers in cars so they always know where they are.

No one should have access to others locations & whereabouts unless they have the options of allowing it. Not only is it stalking, it's an invasion of privacy! He needs to get a restraining order against her.

I agree with you. I cannot stand bossy or controlling people. I can forgive someone being a bit cranky because they were tired or had a bad day. But constant bossy or controlling behavior? No way! I can forgive that too. But I won't put up with it.

Instead of leaving that dinner I would have MILKED the situation if I was that boy. I would have ordered something REALLY FATTENING to go as far in the other direction of the "juice fast" as possible and I would just keep right on letting the father see how controlling she is, and I would have made a big show of how much I was enjoying the meal while she was enjoying her "green juice drink".

This story relates to me so much. John is just like me and Raji is my ex-best friend. She controls me on what I wear, who I talk to, and what I do and always say I'm the one controlling her. My ex-best friend acts just like my mom and thinks she's the most perfect person in the world. She is jealous of other people but doesn't act that way. She pulls me away from my other friends but I still hang out with them. Eventually, I dropped my ex-best friend. This video relates to my life so much.

She forced him into a choice that would impact his relationship with his best friends depending on which option he picked. She also used the friend's desire to go to the Lakers game to basically force him to chose to forgive her. And if he didn't forgive her, then his relationship with his friends and raji have been destroyed

Relationships are not about controlling, or changing the other person. YOU NEVER PUT ANYONE in a 'You better choose' situation, unacceptable. Love is Built, not found, and Control is not okay. I agree with that, you shouldn’t have to change to make your partner happy, the only person you should change for is yourself. I’ve learned that doing things to make another person happy is only going to result in making yourself miserable. Do things that make YOU happy. Don’t change for anyone.

I'd like to point out how interesting the desi family's strict theme is here. I myself am Sri Lankan and grew up with alot of Indian friends so I can relate to this. Alot of Desi dads are actually pretty chill and it's usually the mothers who are super traditional and strict. Daughters would get it from mothers like Raji here. This stems from how in Indian culture we like to compare families and sometimes compare within the family. Mothers and Aunts usually do this and they hold high nearly impossible standards that it feels like they'll never be happy with your choice. In fact it's the wedding they hold the highest regard to. The more expensive the better. Alot of this controlling behaviour also goes unchecked because therapy is sooo embarrassing to alot of families. This is mainly through my experience plus personally i've been outcasted from my own sri lankan community and family so feel free to correct me.

Not all the time mothers are conservative. I am Bangladeshi here. My mother is calm and doesn't mind, though I will have to eat cultural Bangladeshi food all the time. My dad is slightly stricter and wants me to study alot and gets angry or disappointed if im with white gal pals, as well as beating me with the large stick.
