Go easy on her please… I’m a 29 year old of 3 and it is horrific. I had to go on leave from my job because of this. I’m not the mother I should be because of this. I hear it in her voice how badly she wants to be okay… I am in tears writing this because I feel the exact same way she feels and this is terrible. She seems like a great person. God bless you, her, and the rest of your family

Mr. Folk, My anxiety reached such an intensity that I am feeling insane, my muscles in the back of the head, back, arms are burning and stabbing really bad. I feel extremely numb, mind numbness. I am agonizing. It feels like torture. It is so intense... I am very bad condition. Will I be able to recover? I am so worn out by living like this for the last two years that I am afraid my nerves/neurons are damaged beyond repair. What can I do to make this stop. Please help me with some advice! Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling right now. It's true that anxiety can make a person feel awful. The good news is you can get better no matter how poorly you feel. However, it's going to take work to restore your body's health. Since there are many things we recommend to turn things around, I can't include them in this comment. However, since anxiety symptoms are symptoms of stress, if you reduce your stress and give your body time, you will feel better as your body recovers from being overly stressed. Because anxiety symptoms are symptoms of stress, we don't have to worry about them. But they are letting you know your body is stressed and needs rest. If you give it what it needs, your body will recover in time no matter how stressed and symptomatic it becomes. We explain recovery in more detail in the Recovery Support area, if that's of interest to you.

Does anyone get a tight shuddering feeling in the chest this can last a few weeks with me. Appreciate the feed back feel on my own with this and it’s causing my anxiety to get worse. Heart readings are fine apparently
@anxietycentre
@anxietycentre 2 жыл бұрын
There can be many descriptions and causes for the symptom you mentioned, such as heart palpitations (where it feels like the heart flutters or skips a beat for a moment), muscle tremors (where you feel a fluttering feeling in the chest), esophageal spasms (where it feels like something in your chest "shuddered"), or diaphragm spasms (where it feels like something just above the stomach area shuddered or fluttered for a moment). In each case, these are common symptoms of stress, including anxiety-caused stress. They aren't harmful and will subside when stress is reduced and the body has time to recover. But as with all anxiety symptoms, discuss them with your doctor to ensure they are solely stress (anxiety) related. You can read about each symptom in our Symptoms article here: www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-disorders/symptoms/

I asked my dr. to send me to a psychiatrist. I wanted the shrink to tell my dr. Im not depressed ( though Im getting there!) And she read your article on anxiety causing dizziness. She was under the impression the dizziness only came with anxious feelings or a pannic attack, not 24/7. She had a fellow dr. read it too. They had not heard of floor moving. So then Im wondering is my shrink a quack or are you!!! Plus the psychiatrist basically said she is just there to manage my meds.. I said I dont want to be on these meds so she let me ween myself off and told me to come back in 6 months! I had a stapesdectomy 30 years ago thought that might have something to do with my dizziness. I am at the end of my rope there are no more doctors to see. Ive seen them all. I dont know how I can get rid of my stressors so now what?

From person and professional experience, dizziness is often caused by stress, including anxiety-caused stress. I've seen a lot of people have it and get rid of it by eliminating their stress and giving their bodies time to recovery. Regarding stress, there's a lot we can do to reduce stress. You can explore this channel for some of those videos.

Does anyone have feelings of the floor moving all the time. MRI ok labs normal but the unbalance is debilitating. I dont feel stress now. Had a bunch for 25 years. Divorce took care of that. But now I cant enjoy it. Drs. just tell me Im old and depressed. Im not. I have decided Ive got to just live with this. I do get sad I live in the beautiful rural area and Im afraid to ride my bike or walk very far. So listening to this there is no answer.

Yes, there is an answer. I had that symptom, too. It's a very common indication of chronic stress. You might want to watch our video "Why do I have anxiety symptoms when I don't feel anxious or stress?" for more information. We are also producing a video about the symptom you mentioned (Dizziness, Lightheadedness, Floor moving feeling) in the next couple of weeks. I think you'll find that very helpful and encouraging. Hello I was diagnosed with PPPD after all my vestibular exams came back normal. 24-7 dizziness when upright and gone when lying down. They prescribed Lexapro which I’m scared to take but will have to try it soon. SSRI is the only drug that can be used for PPPD. I wonder if Buspirone would help for dizziness.

Chronic dizziness (PPPD) is caused by chronic stress. Reducing stress and giving the body sufficient time to recover will eliminate chronic dizziness. We see this all the time with anxious people.

A lot depends on where you are in the recovery process. If you have good recovery skills, going for a walk or drive can be good. But if those activities are highly stressful and cause anxiety, it's better to rest and equip yourself with good recovery skills before regularly doing them.

So if we take anxiety meds will this go away???
@anxietycentre
@anxietycentre Жыл бұрын
Anxiety is caused by behavior, and anxious behavior stresses the body, causing anxiety symptoms. Taking anti-anxiety meds might reduce symptoms for some people (about 33% experience symptom reduction but with side effects, 33% experience no benefit but with side effects, and 34% feel worse). To get rid of anxiety, one must deal with the behaviors that cause anxiety, which medication doesn't do.
