Converse for high cut Vans for low cut Vans for skate shoes Converse for gym shoes Red converse for 🤡 shoes though. Match it with clown costume and a unicycle. Lol

Hahahahaha 🤡 Shoes! I agree I wouldn’t do High Top Vans, and even though I don’t skate, I still prefer the low Vans over the low converse... Your clown observation does bring up something I left off- Converse make larger size feet look EVEN bigger

Love Your Video! To me, the best basic shoe is the Converse 70s. More Durable then both Converse Chuck Taylor and Vans. Peace and Love.

Terri, thank you for checking the video out and sharing your thoughts. I have never owned a pair of Converse 70’s but based on photos and some research that say the Chuck 70’s are “5mm higher to provide extra stability” among other improvements, it certainly seems to backup your opinion on their increased durability. I might have to give the 70’s a 2nd look next time I go to the Converse store.

Yeah I wanted to try to make the best 1 to 1 comparison that I could so that why I only focused on their flagship shoe. Do you think the legacy/history of a shoe brand plays a role in whether you wear that shoe? Or is it all about the style and the look? Thanks for watching by the way!

I do like the toe cap on the converse though. Whenever I get them scuffed i just stake a wet paper towel and wipe them for 5 minutes. After that they are close to being good as new.

That is a great point… I was looking at the toe box from a support perspective… but you are right, because yesterday my son stepped on the toe box of my all white Converse… and I just wiped it right off. No fuss, no stains. Thanks for watching and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts as well.

If I said you “can’t” that might have been too strongly worded… but just because people have been wearing that combo for 30 years, doesn’t mean it looks good (or that it is a better combo than Chucks w/ Skinnys). But of course that’s just my opinion… Thanks for watching and contributing.

I just determined, 5 minutes ago. Chucks are more cushioned on the insole than Vans. (I’m talking about standard versions of both.) So I’ll have to disagree with you there. Also, sounds odd but I feel that the muscles in my feet are working more freely in Chucks as well. Which actually also helps with the comfort. In my case I feel less is better here. However I will say again, Converse’s insoles are an upgrade than recently. So better insole, less restriction, it just feels better. And they are cheaper than most Vans.

Vans is good for wide feet. I have hella wide feet. I feel like chucks are designed for normal feet only. Hence i love vans for that.

Zach, that makes perfect sense! You’ve have a specific need that Vans really cater to... I like Vans better because they feel more sturdy and that is a major consideration for me when I choose tennis shoes. I just think that Converse has the more wide reaching impact. Thanks for watching!

@@YuMe-id8de Honestly I am not comfortable wearing all white shoes... My Black and White Vans get dirty and I love it... but I have some all white Converse that I’ve only worn twice, because I don’t want them to get dirty... I don’t really know why either.

I agree... despite some pretty key differences, it’s hard to go wrong with either one! (Unless you put on a suit... then Vans are a no go lol)

I think vans are better my opinion vans has more patterns then converse u can't even get a pair of skull converse but vans got the skate hi bolts those are badass I got a pair and vans just look better my opinion then converse

I personally think that Vans are a cooler looking shoe also, I just think they don’t pair well with “everything” and I feel that’s what Converse has going for it.

My feet ususlly get sweaty in padded shoes. Converse is way more conformatable and stylish as well. Though I think low tops look ugly 😕

I yeah the sweaty feet thing is the worse… but I’ve got to disagree about the low top thing. I think if you pants are tailored properly, low tops look great with pants and they are definitely the more superior look if you are going with shorts. As far as comfort… I think The Van’s has a marginal lead just based on that raised sole and converse’s lack of cushion. Thanks sooo much for watching and sharing your thoughts.

Based on this information from Reviewed.com… You are probably right, that the Chuck 70’s are probably a better comparison and likely the more superior shoes. “The Chuck 70 features more stitching and a sturdier construction compared to the original Chuck Taylor All Star. It also has a slightly higher outsole and longer rubber toe cap.” -Reviewed.com

Since i was a kid i always saw my friends wearing converse shoes, but tbh i never thought they were any appealing, I dont think they look any good with anything, they look horrible, no matter how many times i have seen them, and no matter in which clothes i see them, they look horrible, not only that, i always saw my friends' converse destroyed and with holes, bad looking etc, I never thought they were any good as well, such bad quality for looking that bad? nope

I hear you Nek, Converse shoes definitely have a history of taking a beating and showing all of the wear. I will say that I have to disagree with you about their appeal though. A worn pair of converse are essential to pulling off a cool grunge look but a new clean pair are almost like a blank canvas to build upon. Personally I am a traditionalist when it comes to Chuck’s, and comparatively speaking I think the original old skool and Classic All Stars are a better versus battle… with that said, The Chuck 70 provides equivalent durability to Vans, provides more Arch support and generally a more comfortable shoe… I think the Chuck 70 is a superior overall shoe but it’s not an All Star though.

Thanks for watching… but I’ve gotta disagree that Nike is the reason why Chucks suffer in the quality department. The original Chucks never really held much regard for high quality construction. I will agree that Nike hasn’t don’t much to change that… but I also don’t think they should. The Chuck is a classic shoe, so they’ve got to be real careful with how they alter that model. I think you see them trying to improve quality on the hybrid models of Chuck Taylor’s, but sticking to more original manufacturing for the OG’s

Really? … Do you mean a more comfortable wear overall or just more comfort from the insoles? I would choose Vans to walk around in over converse because they are thin (IMO).

For walking also I have the all star not the 70s and they feel super light, you’re right they’re almost like walking with no shoes on, but the vans feel like I have a piece of wood after a while of walking on them, I have a few pairs of the confy cush one and those are comfortable to walk with but they are heavy. I guess it depend from person to person

Converse high top is superior to Vans Hi--Tops, and reverse...but overall, Vans is superior to Converse, as every Vans low top in my opionion is superiro to every Converse counterprart. Also, you're not fair to the Vans when it comes to versatility: you're showing the most unversatile model. Try beige or white authentic or pro silip ons, and versatility is there. All the edge Converse have over Vans lies within two conponents: (1) Cultural impact [possess contextual flexibility] (2) No high top from Vans will ever match the one from C'...at least when it comes to desing.

Whoa… Mr Anti-Hero that was a fair assessment. I wanted to use what I thought was the most commonly worn version (and what I had the most available of) but I agree the Old Skool isn’t exactly the most versatile shoe that Vans makes.

@@DetroneDoesIt you can wear the vans causal dress up for with instant like a flannel shirt with blue or black chino denin jeans, or causal jeans with a sweater vest over button up shirt, and other words u can go for the skate look with hoodie and cargo, or go for formal business look, if i where school teacher or a car sales man i think u wear slacks with vans too

@@vluck44 I don’t think the Vans play well with formal business looks… What you described feels mostly casual with some borderline business casual (salesman & teacher) … but I believe Converse fill all of those genres as well traditional formal (suit & tie), which I have not seen Vans pull off successfully. Honestly though, it’s hard to go wrong with either.

@@mopayne6040 That’s a great observation Mo, They do resemble the Oliver Cabell leather sneakers… The all white leather version of the Old Skool could certainly pass as a more formal Vans shoe in that layout.
