@Butterfly1025A 2 жыл бұрын
@@kamoroso94 actually, that’s a very interesting point! Nerd mode engaged 🤓 A fun thing about clay is that it’s molecularly distinct from mud. IRL you can isolate clay from soil by washing it repeatedly so that the soil is filtered out and the clay remains suspended in the water, then you strain the clay-water through a filter that catches the clay and lets the water through. (You can also get clay in other, irrelevant ways.) The process shown at Minecraft Live this year almost-but-not-quite follows those steps: saturate soil with water, then filter the water from the mud through dripstone so that clay remains. You could suspend reality and view that as them skipping a step (filtering out soil) and then the rest of it is mechanically accurate (separate water from the solution and get clay). If they wanted the process to actually resemble real-life processes, though, then the cauldron should fill with clay and the block on top should turn back into dirt! So your instinct is actually right, sucking all the water out of mud should turn it back into dirt (maybe even coarse dirt, honestly) because either a) all the clay would be dissolved in the water or b) the clay wouldn’t have dissolved at all and would stay in the soil for net zero change. From a gameplay perspective, however, I understand why they’re thinking of it this way. Cauldrons are used for stuff that can go in buckets, and clay blocks don’t go in buckets. I think using sponge is a better idea than Nether placement because boiling the water in your clay actually results in your clay filling with steam and then exploding. So, the Nether option could be very funny, but it only resembles reality if the mud block automatically breaks and drops clay balls 👍🏻

You could use endermen to get the clay blocks since clay is one of the blocks that can be picked up by endermen. If you built the farm in the end and used rooted dirt to get dirt fully automatic with 1 afk player with a hoe and the mud mechanic does support dispensers you could at least get to the undyed terracotta step using only 1 afk account although it would be slow and impractical. @mbcommandnerd
@mbcommandnerd 2 жыл бұрын
So the whole process goes like this: Stone blocks are created by a stone generator, and then the stone is converted to moss by bonemealing a moss block nearby. Then the moss gets converted to podzol using the growth of a giant spruce tree, which then gets blown up by TNT and dropped as dirt. The dirt then gets placed again by a player, and a piston pushes the placed dirt blocks past a dispenser with water bottles, converting the dirt into mud. The mud blocks then get pushed over some dripstone stalactites, which dry them out and convert them to clay blocks, which are then blown up again and dropped as clay balls. Then another player takes those clay balls and crafts them back into clay blocks, which are then put into a furnace. The furnace bakes the clay into terracotta, which is then dyed the desired color(s) by a third player at a crafting table. That player then puts the resulting colored terracotta into a second furnace, baking it one more time and creating the final glazed terracotta. Whew, that was a lot. But seriously, you could make a whole factory that does this conversion, and get two of your friends to join and help you run it: one places the dirt blocks, one crafts the clay balls back into block form, and one dyes and glazes the terracotta.

Question, does podzol convert to dirt when under a solid block the way grass does because that could be used instead, or atleast have someone convert it to paths which will convert instantly under that condition and this saves TNT & a blast chamber and you don't have to place dirt just hold right click and try bot to break your good shovels (could supply iron ones if you have a good iron farm). Additionally natural tree growth is unreliable so someone will need to actively plant, bonemeal, and harvest the mega spruces for the moss --> podzol conversation step.
@xelspeth
@xelspeth 2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonreed7522 Podzol does not convert back and bonemeal can be applied with a dispenser so a player is not needed for that
@jasonreed7522
@jasonreed7522 2 жыл бұрын
@@xelspeth thank you, however a player is still needed for planting the saplings even if you use dispensers and pistons to grow and remove the tree. (Ideally send it to the same blast chamber, and you only need to remove enough of the lower part to keep replanting) Alternatively set up the whole farm for 1 player to make batches. So it wraps stone around a spruce, bonemeals moss above it, grows the tree, and pushes the podzol down a block and then repeats building up a large podzol "cube" moving downward. Then either piston magic it into a blast chamber, cleverly blast the sides of it, or just insta mine it with a fortune shovel (anything but silk really). This would be the first stopping point in the batch since dealing with the tree takes a player, and now a second player interaction is to place dirt in a piston feedto make mud which then gets shoved along over dripstone to make clay and tnted again. Also since bedrock doesn't have efficient TNT, our only blast chamber involves enslaving ghasts for their power 1 fireballs, which is barely worth it so i consider us to not have blast chambers for anything worth using it for. (Also no TNT dupe but that is not required, in exchange we cam move tile entities like dispensers with pistons)

Let's be honest, chest in a boat should be categorized as a redstone block. But what would really be nice is a moveable storage system that doesn't require massive numbers of entities...
@waveclaw
@waveclaw 2 жыл бұрын
Chest boat magazine storage is possible in 1.19 but at what cost in entity lag? On the inverse, a minecart + chest boat rail line could drop off blocks to a simple control system for programmable redstone. The hopper line is a 3-wide writable register system for redstone logic. However, the replay sequence is based on taking items from the chest, which might be subject to server lag and timing. If in 1.19 a villager or other mob can also ride the minecart + chest boat and do the normal minecart + boat rapid acceleration, this could also be a good power-less vertical transport for bulk items. Think chests of shulker boxes.

"I wish dispensers could dye things" that actually seems like a terrible idea. The dye system is extremely complicated. Some are reversible, some aren't. Things like beds take up multiple blocks. How do you dye items that aren't blocks? Some recipes are 1:1, some are 1:8... etc etc etc. Slapping dye functionality onto dispensers would inevitably lead to confusion Instead bedrock dyed cauldrons should come to java for parity, and items dropped into the cauldrons get dyed. It's intuitive and flexible since cauldrons are capable of having different levels of liquid.

The step with the water bottle wouldn’t need another player either way. If you blow up the podzol, feed the dirt to the player, and in the off hand have a bottle. Then just point your cursor at a waterlogged slab (that has a water source on 2 sides). You’ll fill the bottle with water, place a dirt block, put water in the dirt, rinse repeat. The only issue I can imagine with this would be the player might start drinking the water bottle, which Im not sure if it would affect this or not
@Vidzaes

Alternatively, you could shovel the podzol into path, have your shovel in the off hand and feed the player water bottles, or have the player refill the bottle by moving them momentarily via minecart/piston

With emeralds as a middle step. The clay part however is a really nice addition. Also, now I feel like experimenting with the boat in minecart idea. for the part where the podzol is converted into dirt, I don't think you'll need an afk account for that I'm pretty sure podzol works in the same way as grass blocks, where if you put any non-transparent block on top of it for a couple seconds it'll convert to dirt on its own, so if you have a sticky piston on a clock that pushes a block onto the podzol every couple hundred game ticks I think that'd work pretty well instead?
