Nothing will beat handcrafted and bespoke models, especially as AI is useless at giving exact responses for creative purposes and I’m sure there will copyright extension in future to AI as it requires a bank of resources to “learn and train” from.

AI still gets A LOT of models wrong, especially non-object models... Modellers are still very much needed...

Dude this will do most of your heavy lifting for you giving you more time to put your own touch on it. I cam use a paint brush but a painter can take the same brush and do awsome stuff with it.

@@jeepercreep12 Being lazy or being effective? If you can get what you need and fix it up, instead of spending countless hours learning how to use all the tools in blender, then why not? The thing you're doing is called gatekeeping, the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something, in this case, 3d models. I'm not downplaying people who have learned it and are amazing at it, but not everyone is as artistically capable and don't have time to pour into learning a tenth of game development. Perhaps these tools can get some games out in the open that would have otherwise not been developed.

@@ArksideGames Now THIS is what I hope to see. People making a quick buck on people's laziness for money, I'd be happy to see pushback on with AI. But of course, I just hope those of us who pour our soul into 3D modelling, don't get overlooked as well.

you forget about people who are physically disabled and cant draw in the standard sense. These tools allow someone like me with hand tremors from a car accident 20 years ago to be able to make art. Im sorry but if current artists cant pickup a new tool and create there art with it they werent artists to begin with IMO.

If you can make a compelling argument for it I'll accept it, at least it's making a statement. AI art makes no statement. Has no creativity. Has no will. Has no humanity. Has no thought. It's you typing words and saying "yeah that's close enough to my idea." There's no vision in it. It's not even in a style you would use yourself. It's all artificial. It's instant gratification for a process that's entirely fueled by passion. If you were to take ai art in compose it in such a way that you were making a point or statement. Then I would call that art. That's not what people are using AI art for. They're using it to fill the unreal marketplace with icon asset packs that cost 2 dollars underselling every legitimate creator, and making quality work difficult to find on already horribly organized markets. So if like to challenge your assertion: "if artists can't pickup a new tool and create art with it they weren't real artists to begin with IMO" with an equally daunting yet cruel assertion of my own. If you aren't able to create just because of life's misfortunes and personal disabilities YOU aren't a true artist. If you would rather rely on a machine than put in the effort to struggle, cry, scream and fail at making something on your own you are NOT an artist. You're a designer or producer or what have you. But you are NOT an artist. That's not the sport of it. That's not what art is. Ai art doesn't challenge your color theory, or composition skills. It doesn't strive to achieve gestalt or challenge the status quo with something avant garde. It just makes the words you type. So, use those trembling hands to make something yourself or get really good at using your toes if you have any integrity as an artist. I have no problem using AI as a tool to assist you or for generating reference and inspiration. But it's still inhuman and not art in itself. It takes more than a prompt and a result to make art. I respect children's drawings more. At its core it's like this: making something yourself = mom and pop burger shop. AI art = mcdonalds. I'll eat mcdonalds, but it's never winning a Michelin star and it never should. I'd much rather have 80 terrible locally owned business than 1 mcdonalds. I don't make art to be rich or to be famous. I like the mom and pop shop, make it cause I wanted to do it. I have a passion for it. I'm not trying to make a billion dollars as nice as that would be. I don't like seeing my passion and others passion disrespected. AI art at its core is disrespectful. It's appropriation of art. It's as much art as gacha games are actual video games. In name only and only good for cash grabs and grifts. Go make something.

Months actually. Concidering im studying 3D and animation…. This ai ist primitive now. But by how fast ai in general is developing, this shit is going to be a shitshow in a couple of years. I cant see how u dont find this sad. Yes, noone is entitled to a job, But i think the problem for most is losing dreams, weather They already have the dream job, or ar currently working towards getting there. Seeing that be potentially be taken away from you by a robot, just because its cheaper and faster Than you is soulcrushing
