Gosh. To think that my worries at first only concerned the desk being able to hold you dancing on top of it. The end is so shocking in the social context we are living. Such darkness and innocence conveyed artistically. I admire your performance in all the dimensions of the story.

I was really uncomfortable with the gun and didn't know how it would be edited. I think it came out amazing. I don't like to see myself so dark though!

I wasn't sure exactly where this video was going at first with the back-and-forth cuts between the light and dark sides but once they crossed over - wow, that was powerful. Especially when you see all the flowers spilling out if their pots by the end. Very powerful stuff, and unfortunately it's become even more relevant in the years since this video was uploaded. A hauntingly beautiful video ❤

Kiddo, you are deep. You're straight transmuting darkness into expression. Everyone holds the capacity for darkness and light. To me this piece represented the reminder to that. May everyone find the gifts in life that make them grateful to be alive and help them heal their pain into strengths so that they may respect the lives of others and ultimately choose to create rather than destroy. Wow Merrick, your artistic style has come so far! I absolutely loved the contrast between the dark side and the light side of the two roles you portrayed in the video. When the sunflower pots were shot, I thought it was symbolic of happy thoughts being destroyed by depression... am I correct? Amazing, Merrick. And I love the song. The video reminds me of Pearl Jam's video for "Jeremy," which was seen by some as too controversial at the time. So glad to see a band give you an opportunity like this. Incredible dancing Merrick. The ending was a bit hard to watch and must have been a little daunting to shoot that section.
