I went to Hama Sushi for the first time!
Hama Sushi is (generally) a 100 yen sushi restaurant in Japan.

Glad to see another conveyer belt sushi review. Do you have a personal top 3 restaurant rating for conveyor belt sushi? Nice to see the costs of the dishes haven’t risen too much. Has inflation for food hit Japan hard like other parts of the world?
@TokyoFoodieSarah
@TokyoFoodieSarah Жыл бұрын
Great question!! I am planning to make a video comparing the 3 sushi chains 🙌 My bias has always been Kura Sushi haha There’s definitely a bit of inflation in Japan, but not as much as there is in the west! Electricity/gas bills and some food product prices have gone up, but just by a little bit

You certainly ain't getting a slice of pizza for a dollar anywhere in the USA anymore let alone a hot dog. I'd say the healthier and fresher nature of an individual Nigiri is well worth it at most places I've been to in Japan. Absolutely none of them cut quality corners. It's a beautiful tradition you all have developed.

Sushi selection looks really good, but the announcements are a tad bit loud though, I have a pretty strong hearing so it might be a bit rough XD This will be a very convenient place to go to for my later time of the trip in autumn when I am gonna be in Akihabara!

great video! I love going to these sushi conveyor belt restaurants when i visit Japan but the lineup can be very long. I noticed that there are usually two lines (one for people with reservation via app/web and another line for walk in - I've waited over 2 hours before this way). Can you please do a video on how to make reservations at these sushi conveyor belt restaurants or just restaurants in general? Thank you!
@TokyoFoodieSarah
@TokyoFoodieSarah Жыл бұрын
I am thinking of making a comparison of the three conveyor belt sushi chains, so I will include an information on how to reserve each place. When I made a reservation for Hama Sushi, I think they only had a Japanese website. But I'll see if there are ways for you to book a seat (by utilising Google translate, etc.)

I've been watching quite a few of your videos and noticed it more than once that you described the coffee as sour. Unless you are drinking some exotic coffee, I think the word you're looking for is bitter, which is what you would taste if you're drinking an Americano.

I wonder if i could tell the difference between this kind of sushi and some expensive premium sushi in a taste test. I dont think i could. Could you?
@TokyoFoodieSarah
@TokyoFoodieSarah Жыл бұрын
I think the rice would make a big difference because the rice at these affordable sushi places are made by robots. The rice tends to be more packed and has a square shape. Though that being said, I may not be able to tell the difference 🤣 A blind sushi test is a good video idea 🙌

All the different soy sauce fascinating. Thank you. I tried all the different soy sauce at my local grocery, I don't know if they are proper authentic Japanese or Chinese flavours, or if Americanised versions. I settled on SAN-J Tamari (low sodium) brand, it seems to have best taste for me. Is SAN-J in Japan?

Jesus, Lady. First you need to choose alcoholic drinks, then only fish dishes. Next time you should go to a good izakaya. I hope there is no time limit.
@risquecat

You should not be forced to hurry up with your meal. I think it is quite rude. If there is no time limit then the other customer waiting for a table should keep on waiting until a table is available. Most likely I will not be going to this sushi place.
