I lived in Nashville in 1974 and had the honor....and pleasure of meeting Conway. He was just a down to earth sweetheart. You'd never know he was a world known country superstar if you didn't know who he was. He loved wearing old jeans and T shirts that had Twitty bird wrote on them. I live down the road from Nashville now and I'll NEVER forget when he died. His biggest hit was Hello Darlin' and all over Tennessee there were signs on the side of the road in business windows on Billboard's EVERYWHERE that simply said Goodbye Darlin' . It's still hard to believe he was taken from us so suddenly. He was and still is one of the most loved country singers ever. RIP Conway. 😥😥😥💔

I laugh so hard with this song. A buddy of mine growing up(now my brother-in-law) got a t-shirt that said "There's A Tiger In These Tight Fitting Jeans". It was a Christmas gift back when this song was popular,. He was soo embarrassed and so upset. His grandma didn't understand the meaning.

This is my favorite song of all time and he is one of the best singers. He was also such a genuinely nice man. I met him twice. When I was 4, my grandparents took me to a concert at a county fair. He walked by several times at various points and I was singing every word to every song. He stopped by us in the middle of singing Rocky Top. He leaned down and asked me to sing a few lines. I didn't miss a beat. After the song, we talked a few minutes and he asked family if he could take me up on stage to sing me my favorite song. My grandpa said yes but he had to go too (I was 4 after all). Conway laughed and said sure. He asked what my song was and I told him this one. He sang it to me, gave me a hug and we went back to our seat. 8 years later, grandpa and I got to go to another concert. We saw him outside and grandpa said I should say hi. I was kinda shy because he was still my favorite artist. He came over and spoke to us for a few minutes. He had started to turn to go inside but stopped and turned around. He asked if we'd met before. I said yes and he kinda squinted at me for a few seconds and smiled when he said Tight Fittin Jean's! He remembered me. He reached inside the door of the venue and pulled outtl a guitar. He sang me my song again on the street outside the venue where thousands of people had paid to see him perform. There is a reason he is called the best friend a song ever had.
