The drumming from the Maoris in Rarotonga are much unique compare to ones I hear from the Tahitians.

Drumming from the Cook Islands is different depending whether you come from the Southern group or the Northern group of the Cook Islands. The difference is the number of drumsticks used to beat the wooden gongs. The Southern Islands use 2 drumsticks simultaneously and the Northern group uses 1. The sounds are different and distinctive.
