Great video selling Cooke City. Having only had lunch there a few times over the last 5 years, I don't know all that much about it, but I can say it's hugely convenient for traveling the Bear Tooth Pass. And its few restaurants are of surprisingly-high quality. Just weeks after this video was uploaded, my brother and I had lunch there at Beartooth Cafe, and just like the last time I ate there 5 years ago, it was really good. And the views while eating outside are AMAZING (and I don't use that word lightly). Coolest small town in America? That's a big claim, but I'd vote for it. I hope to stop by again in the not-too-distant future! Cheers and thanks from a Virginia hiker!

We spent the night of July 4th 2021 at the Super 8. The town has a pretty impressive fireworks show for such a small town.

So that's what Cooke City looks like in the summer. We only got a chance to see it in the dead of winter, 3 feet of snow on the ground, and -14 degrees. Thanks for the great Montana scenery!

Based off how it looks in the summer there is no such thing as summer in Cooke City lol there’s still snow on the ground, it’s clearly not warm enough to melt it all (wouldn’t be surprised if it was only 40 degrees outside) it looks more like early spring rather than actual summer. The lower elevated areas of Montana actual have a summer season because the snow fully melts.

I remember visiting this town with my mom, dad, and brother while visiting our cousins from Billings in the late 1960's. We would drive up from Houston and stay at the "Dew Drop Inn" which were several log cabins off the main road. The last time we were there was in the early 1970's. Wow, things have changed but no drastically.

Was just here yesterday it is a great small town. Sadly we didn't have alot of time left to visit. But it has its own vibe. Well worth the drive.

We ate lunch at the Beartooth Cafe a few years ago after driving The Beartooth Hwy. We then drove thru the park to Gardiner for the night.

Would anybody know what effect/lens is being used to give a "diorama" effect? Captivating visual!

I was wondering the same. It makes everything look like it could be for a model train.

Is the town still there or did it get washed away by the Yellowstone River like Redlodge did?
@cozmicchaos6400 Жыл бұрын
Neither one got washed away. Red Lodge is back up. The pass was back up, but closed for winter now. Just another "is what it is". Roads are being fixed pretty fast.

A place to visit for a few hours. Not a good place to live, especially in the Winter.
@RobByrd Жыл бұрын
I half heartedly agree with you. Here are some guys that would say the exact opposite, especially about the winter. Check out the link below. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fd1ypZByuK3Uh4U.html

Why is so much of the video out of focus?
@detour_ahead5618 Жыл бұрын
Yes it is beautiful and cozy.......but don't stay there if your disabled in a wheel or power chair, nothing is assessable and the folks aren't that friendly!

Why the "toy camera effect" on the video? It takes all the seriousness away
