The best part of your video was when you said,”before i go in there I’m not a cook”.Very honest and up front and humorous as well.Much respect!!

I love your videos! It’s so sweet how you honor your mother. I had a crane & big pot in my fireplace in MN, we enjoyed cooking sometimes, but I do better with my gas stove!

You're a cook, you just don't know it. A damn good one at that.

i still use my wood stove & oven all winter long, in the summer i primarily use the brick oven and the grill outside. i don't do a lot of cooking in the fireplace but the grandkids and i cook hotdogs and marshmallows in it, which are in fact the best hotdogs and marshmallows in the world

I’m sure having the grandkids helping sure adds to the amazing hotdogs

My great grandmother would use a wood stove like yours to bake apple dumplings and cook a roast beef dinner. How comforting it was to gather round her table and enjoy her home canned beets and elderberry jelly drizzled on her home baked bread. She was an amazing woman. Thank you Mary Hess.

Looks delicious! I'm going to try this in my "modern" oven, though I doubt it will be as good

It will be. It’s my moms recipe and she bakes it in a gas oven all the time. You will love it

Hi, I just found your channel. I love it. Have you ever seen any of the videos on a channel called Early American? It seems like a channel you would like. Or a channel to do a collaboration with. Please keep up the awesome videos. And I could be practically smell the apple 🍎 dumplings 😂

Hi. I haven’t only because I don’t get to watch much tv at all. Thank you for watching and supporting us. Both them and myself. Someday I’ll get the chance to watch more than I do now

Never worry about what the “cooking Karen’s” have to say about anything. Do it your way and enjoy. 😎

Why did they not use a grate in the fire?
@logcabinlifestyle2 жыл бұрын
Most cabins in those days were built by the pour. Those who couldn’t afford to have there lumber milled. But also because wood burns more completely without the grate.

Need some “B” role? Of the particulars of your fireplace as you go through each cooking apparatus. It’s hard to see what your talking about especially with the glare of the lamp. Good content just hard to see. Keep up the good work!
