@Ian Brandon Anderson pierogi are usually boiled, too, but only pierogi have the half circle shape you see at 6:30. Pelmeni are either oval or halfmoons with connected ends. Lots of countries have their own version of filled dough that you cook, but pierogi are the original which is why they're a national dish and which is also why Russians decided to steal from Polish culture as usual 😂 so yes, they're similiar, but distinct.
