Here are some cool things to see and do in Door County, Wisconsin. Door County is considered to be the "Cape Cod of the Midwest" and is home to some of the most beautiful coastlines in the Great Lakes. The Door Peninsula is home to picturesque villages, orchards, and parks. I head out to discover what Door County has to offer.
Some of the great parks to visit are Cave Point State Park with its beautiful, rugged shoreline, The Ridges with many trails going over the swales in the area, Cana Point Lighthouse which is one of the most iconic lighthouses in all of Wisconsin, and Peninsula State Park with hiking, an observation tower, a beach, and a lighthouse. In addition, the iconic Jens Jensen Road is found just before the ferry to Washington Island which contains quite a lot of curves.
Door County also has beautiful villages to see such as Sister Bay, Baileys Harbor, Ephraim, and Fish Creek. Door County also has many orchards including Wood Orchard Market where you can sample some of the fresh cherries grown in the area and get many cherry products from cherries to cherry pie, cherry donuts, and cherry wine. Door County also has great restaurants to discover including Husby's Food and Spirits in Sister Bay and The Loft in Fish Creek.
