After using this industrial chiller for over a year i have to say it is the best way to cool your spindle. the flow is quite high so water can reach spindle at really good rate. not like pond pump where there barely was any flow.
when the hose got pinched you didn't even know something went wrong.
this comes all packaged in to one nice box with water tank and cooling radiator and alarm if something goes wrong.
i have another one for my laser cutter and it has been going for 6 years now.
no problems.
i got mine on alibaba from this company:
jsdgd.en.alibaba.com/productg...
it looks like they have nicer newer models now.

Hey Piotr! I've watched your build videos so often it feels like I'm seeing an old friend! Still I'm a little surprised how nice it is to see you. Hope you're doing well! The next video sounds really interesting and I'm really looking forward to it. Can't say the chiller looks terribly exciting, but if it works it works. See you next time!

Hi Fox, Nice video as always. I have now runnig the exact same chiller for one week, after upgrading my machine to a Iso20 Atc Spindle. I have the same thought about it, like you. The fan is at horrible noise level!! Luckily my VFD has regulated fan, so just one thats loud. I am thinking about repacing it to a silent one. Greetings from Austria. Manfred

I had a cw3000 I was using for my K40 laser which was not adequate for summer. I obtained a refrigerated cw-5000 which works well for the K-40. I have installed the cw-3000 on the cnc. If it is not good enough for summer can use the chiller from the K40.

Hey Piotr! Hope you are well. International shipping can easily be more than the item as you publish this. Happily my pond pump is still running quietly after 2 yrs use. VFD fan is definitely on the list for an upgrade though. Dual ball bearing type - maybe A Noctua branded version is in the cards. Regards C

indeed shipping of only the water chiller would cost as much or more as the chiller, thats why i bought it when i was replacing my laser tube. tube was big and light, the shipping price was calculated by volume and chiller shipping was minimal. to get to the vfd fan you have to take everything out to change it. i'm way to lazy to go though it :)

@@PiotrFoxWysocki Yep. An interesting aspect of the layout is the raised standard cartesian base, so the Y-axis assembly allows a single drive (at the expense of increased depth, though). For a homemade tier, I would place a worm gear coupling mechanism on the A-axis (right into the flange coupling) in order to avoid a powerful direct servo drive, and maybe another one (but with a perpend bevel gear instead) below the rotary table for the rotary shaft/trunnion.

I added a heating element to mine so the spindle is always at 21°C before it starts running. Also really helps with getting the entire Z-axis on a constant temperature. It's an easy upgrade.
@PiotrFoxWysocki
@PiotrFoxWysocki 2 жыл бұрын
feels like i should make something similar as i have noticed the thermal expansion of the z axis. when the machine is cold vs warmed up. its visible on the finish of the 500mm shell mill. i would say few microns.

Interesting, my CW3000 has an actual radiator, with fins, not just simple pipes. I was vastly underwhelmed for the money I paid. Could have built the entire chiller for under $50, I thought they would have at least something special inside..

same here, i wish it had something magical inside :) I was considering building one my self but it would take way more time and it wouldn't have a nice enclosure, so it was cheaper just to buy one. even if i had to modify it.

Hi there, I have a chinacnczone 6040 cnc wth 2.2kw watercooled spindel. I use the waterpump that came with the cnc in a bucket with a mixture of Cooling liquid and distilled water. After running a couple of hours the spindel gets realy hot. Do you think the Vevor CW3000 is good enough to keep the temperature of the spindel down? What kind of liquid did you use in your chiller? Thanks in advance.
@PiotrFoxWysocki
@PiotrFoxWysocki Жыл бұрын
I have been using the same thing for many years. Same thing. If you run spindle for too long it gets hot. All because this pond pump just is not strong enough to keep the flow. I had my bucket at the same level as the spindle to increase the flow. But since I switched into this chiller no more problems plus I have temperature and no flow warning. Go for it!
@josvanhoof7616
@josvanhoof7616 Жыл бұрын
@@PiotrFoxWysocki Thanks for your time. I saw some other options to reduce the temperature by using a pc watercooler with 2 fans. Since i had laying some old fans of 120 mm around i only need the radiator to try the setup. I hope it works. I will keep you posted.
@PiotrFoxWysocki

I dont think cooling is the problem. I think water flow is. Because I'm sure that spindle is much warmer than the water in the bucket 🪣 😉
@josvanhoof7616
@josvanhoof7616 Жыл бұрын
@@PiotrFoxWysocki I never thought of that. The water in the bucket is fairly warm but the spindel is very hot after a couple of hours. I have another same waterpump as i use now. Maybe it helps if i let these pumps work together to get a better waterflow. When it does not work okay, i surely will go to a cw3000.
