On 18 September 2012, two Greater Manchester Police officers, Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone, were killed by Dale Cregan in a gun and grenade ambush while responding to a report of a burglary in Tameside, Greater Manchester, England. The incident was the first in England in which two female police officers were killed on duty. Greater Manchester's chief constable Peter Fahy called the attack "cold-blooded murder" and Prime Minister David Cameron described it as a "despicable act...of pure evil".

😢 it drives me MAD as an Irish person, knowing exactly who these families are, or think they are …. Towns are closed at home to try and stop ‘feuds’ between travellers. But they are afraid to actually say the word !! It’s a disgrace. Where I come from, the church was closed’ because of an attack, one on one in the church for families at a funeral. That’s serious at home. Words like gangs etc. a joke…. Rewards a joke too …. They have to still live there. At least they got protection.

It cost the lives of two young innocent ladies doing their job to put a stop to this, because this is the sad system which we live today in UK. Would this carry on if capital punishment was re introduced, I think not.... bread and water out of a dog bowl is still a luxury in my eyes. RIP ladies,,,

Not being sexist, bur female police officers should not be sent to any callout involving violence. They might want equality but there's nothing equal when it comes to violent men and diminutive females; police officers or not. In the words of their boss, Nichola 'looked like a child', and Fiona 'was five foot nothing'.

Not good that two police officers lost their lives, not good at all. But Cregan was only able to stay one step ahead of the police, because one of their own was warning Cregan about raids on his potential hiding places. Until GMP can accept that they have a corrupt organisation, other officers are at risk.

No other way could Dale Cregan win so he taking two office out he planed it well if you asked me. He was a step ahead of the police. At all times and still would of been if he didn't hand him self inn. R.I.P Office was it worth it. NO Dale taking two lives out in the police force. Now he lives in prison that not going to bother him. This his way of life prison life it home to Dale Cregan.

@@TheTrueCrimeChannel Gross misconduct, lied over many years about his naval career. This included him wearing a falklands medal and telling people he had served in that war, the medal deemed 110% fake by a ministry of defence expert and he was only 15 at the time the war started. He had on his CV when applying for the job that he had served in the Royal Navy for ten years, when infact it was only two years. Also stated he had attended the Britannia Royal Naval college for four years, despite his application being rejected. That he had been a military negotiator in Haiti when he had never set foot in that country ever. He had claimed he had been a commander in the Royal Navy, when the fact was he was a low level able seaman, he was sacked and admitted all the lies.

To a large extent, there is not a lot of difference in the mentality and psychology between criminal gangs and the police gang. Both have a propensity for violence, the police will say they do it in self defence or to protect the public, but that doesn't change the facts. As has been shown to date, the police are quite willing to break the law to get the results they want, using justification, they were taking criminals off the street. The fact is when you are willing to get down in the dirt, it doesn't matter the reasoning behind it. Police officers are quite willing to use weapons, including fire arms, this takes a particular mentality, and as we have seen in riots, they frequently have expressions of enjoyment when inflicting pain on others when using the Batons.
