Most holsters require 2 to 3 different movements to unlock the gun. Cops practice it and are use to it, but it's pretty difficult to just take a cop's gun unless you know what you're doing.

@@jake51515 Again, in my state it is not unheard of for felony conviction sentences to be served in county jail for an extended period of time beyond the 18 month maximum. It requires a judge to approve the alternate sentencing. I don't think that it has ever been approved for incarceration longer than 3 years. Another way it happens is longer sentences but all time is suspended except up to 18 months. Felons do serve time in county jails sometimes.

Apparently 70-80% of felony convictions result in incarceration. This is coming from Bureau of Justice Statistics. Otherwise fines, probation, or shorter sentences that would only require a county jail, such as some theft, fraud, or drug possession charges, would be sufficient.

The thing with the surveillance everywhere though is it really doesn’t make any difference at all unless you’re breaking the law or someone is violating you and that’s when they really matter and why they’re important to have. There’s no reason to reach for a cops weapon unless you plan to use it, and if she would’ve gotten it out, she would’ve been a prime target for every other police officers gun so this officer saved her by punching her in the face.

Felonies are punished with a year or longer in prison plus any additional fines. Misdemeanors are punished with less than a year in prison plus any additional fines. Multiple felonies can be punished with concurrent or sequential prison sentences. I remember a Texas case where multiple felonies stacked sequentially and added up to 2000 years in prison with eligibility for parole after serving half the sentence.

I saw a simpler situation, with no alcohol and one man involved with the police end up with him dead. It took the same amount of time. He was smoking while playing chess at a table outside a Stbx. The smoking rule had just changed. The group of men were former soldiers from the Serb Croatian war. Disabled mentally. physically fit. unable to work. everyone but this one guy put out the cigarettes The cashier called the police. The uniformed police approach the guy and it just escalated. He fought. They tased him. He kept fighting. So they shot him to death A memorial of flowers appeared. I learned of his story from his relatives out there. I figured at least he died fighting like a soldier. Many people were angry at the cashier, the company and the police. Don’t resist . Saying “don’t arrest me” can be considered resisting in the US, between the time the police show up and the time your lawyer shows up, be an obedient mannequin who recalls nothing.

To paraphrase the Holy Grail, "It's a wedding, a joyous occasion. Let's not bicker about ooo hit ooo." Another favorite of mine is three judges, yes, judges (two male, one female) start a fight with two teenage boys in the parking lot of a White Castle restaurant in Indianapolis. The judges on the way home from a strip club. Can't make this up. Female judge starts it with her mouth. Kids say something back and the two male judges run toward the teens and start a fight. The fight goes on for a few minutes before one of he teens goes to his car and gets hits gun and shoots the two male judges. It's all on video. The judges kept their jobs somehow with a mere suspension while the teens were cleared bc of self defense, tho got a gun charge. Again, it's all on video. Google "judges fight teens at Indianapolis White Castle." Entertaining as hell and be sure to get the unedited 10 minute plus version.

Felonies are bad. I'm not positive but I've heard if you have a felony you can't serve on a jury, which some may see as a plus or travel internationally, cant join the military, can't hold public office. You could lose custody or have a hard time getting custody rights of kids. It's very hard to find a job as a felon even fast food jobs sometimes won't hire you. You will also be barred from certain jobs like law enforcement, a job in a school, and health care jobs. Sometimes it will be hard to get a place to live bc they might not want to rent to a felon. You can't have possession of firearms. Lose the right to vote. Generally felonies stay on your record forever unless you hire an attorney to expunge it. My younger brother who passed away at age 20 was involved in a house burglary when he was 18 and that would have been a felony or temporarily was I guess. I remember he had to sign all his guns over to my dad who had to get all guns including my dads out of the house and take to a friends house to store bc my brother was living at home. My brother was super respectful and apologetic and he got it expunged which sadly didn't matter that much because he died two years later in a motorcycle wreck.

A felony charge means prison time, a massive fine and lost of the rights to vote, own a gun, hold public office and many other things like renting a home or travel. Yeah omg I would get myself in trouble if I was a cop. I very well may have pulled out my service weapon and followed a double tap on her. Cops have a minimum of level 3 holster retention on their firearms. Corrections officers can have level 4 if they are even allowed firearms in the prison which generally they aren't. Assaulting or battery to a police officer is a separate charge and always a felony. Assaulting or battery depends on verbalization of the law in that state. Cops honestly should have pulled tasers sooner. Close proximity makes pepper spray hard to deploy. Actually better than pepper spray is would be collapsible batons. Cops in Rhode Island are former military and they're not trained de-escalate. Sometimes you need a punch a cop

There’s really no real hero in this story. The cops were very unprofessional and became way to aggressive and escalated the situation to something worse than should have been. I also don’t condemn what those people fighting the cops neither.

The police didnt escalate anything. They tried to take control of the situation as cops are supposed to do. Stick to being an NPC.

Listening to Dave and Daz talk about how police should be able to just punch anyone that he is breaking just shows why there is so much police brutality. Absolute bellends.
