Compassion and murder don't belong in the same sentence and he deserves to suffer. BEHIND BARS.

Signed. This hits home for me on many different levels. My heart goes out to all of the family and friends impacted by this potential injustice if this killer receives “compassionate” release. I was married to a cop that threatened my life, threatened to kill himself, and did this in front of our small children. By the time I left this abusive relationship, the damage was immeasurable. My 5 year old son would hit his head against the wall saying he wanted to die. All the therapy, love and limiting his contact with his dad didn’t keep him from taking his own life at 19. The damage from these kind of people continues for lifetimes. It’s been 10 years since my son died. My daughter and I have worked very hard to be here, to be present and to live. The police force never believed my accusations and he never had consequences. We give power in uniforms to small minded men that need to instead be weeded out of law enforcement. How blind and ignorant do we need to continue to be until we learn from history?

This is infuriating and terrifying. No compassion to those who've not shown compassion. Leave danger and anger behind bars and electric fences. Rest in Forever Peace Christina, Marilyn, John, and the far too many taken heartlessly. I'm sorry the families and friends will have to miss these beautiful souls. Once more, thank you Ana and Luis!

Omg. This could happen to a KZfaqr I follow. His father shot and killed his mother and wounded his aunt, his mom’s sister, in front of him and his sister. Recently he was supposed to appear at the parole board to speak against parole for his father. For whatever reason, the father decided not to attend. His father is in his 80’s too. This is appalling. This happened to my family in 2020. I’m still so upset bc my family member murdered is frozen at 16 had no criminal record or affiliations. While the murderer was 23 and boasted about being affiliated.

People convicted of non-violent crimes should absolutely be compassionately released, especially once elderly. I have a MS in Criminal Justice, elderly inmates are very costly and take up a LOT of the population in prisons. HOWEVER. People convicted of first-degree murder? Totally different territory. This story is disgusting. He STAGED a suicide. So disgusting that he gets compassion, when there was zero compassion for his wife all those years ago.

Hi Ana and Luis, my heart is broken for Christina’s family. I honestly can’t imagine the pain her family has endured. To have to go through this again is just unfathomable. This ‘compassionate release’ is extreme cruel to the victim’s family members. I wonder if it is a way for the Prison’s to get out of paying for the end of life medical care for prisoners. I don't believe in compassionate release or time off for good behavior of inmates under any circumstance. I feel it weakens the justice system. Breaking the law should have concequences- that means the entire sentence is served no matter mitigating "illnesses". God bless this woman's family.

The only compassion this monster should be accorded is hospitalization, if needed. If he dies outside the prison walls it should ONLY be in a hospital --- AND still in shackles! He cut the victim's life short and that is permanent --- she has no 'parole from death'. 😮

The problem shouldn't be if he I a threat to society or not. The fact of the matter is that he took a life and he was sentenced. He should complete his sentence, period. Plus he totally deserves to die in prison. That's what life sentences are for. I wonder how this absurd law was passed. That is why I sometimes am in favor of the death penalty. The penalty is inflicted and the victim's family can move on. But more often than not families have to endure years and years of appeals wishing the criminal is not released.

These laws are being written by people who have never been victimized by criminals, who seriously harm or kill a family member, who is close to them! It seem government doesn't do anything, unless it happens to them! Police investigating themselves happens in most PDs, and they CONSISTENTLY COVER UP THE CRIME OF THE CO-WORKER, mainly to not bring attention to them, and have to questions about why they didn't get rid of the bad officer before, when many in the community filed complaints about that officer! Get that judges name out to the public, so he doesn't get re-elected! Put Hassan next door to the judge to live!

Oh my word. I live in South Africa and we release prisoners on compassionate grounds, This of course applies mostly to high-flyers, ex-politicians and their friends. A case in point is a buddy of an ex-president who went to prison for massive fraud. He claimed he was about to die from diabetes complication and was released after only a short period in prison. So here we are many, many years later and he is walking around healthy as a horse, playing golf, enjoying life. It is the most abused law ever.

Compassionate release should only be for none violent offenders and those who have not committed sexual offences.

This law has been on the books in pa for ages. It has nothing to do with compassion, it has everything to do with the state/county/feds not wanting to foot the medical bills often associated with severely ill inmates

I’m very sorry for this family. I totally agree that violently charged criminals should not be released early for any reason. Simply google violent criminals who murder after early release and you will have your reading cut out for you. Statistics show it’s a major fail!! Judges who consider this should have to sign a waver, to be held accountable and charged if the convict murders again.

I'm sitting here, booking mad!!! I feel so sorry for the family. He is being released after it took seven years to bring him to trial? To the home of a police officer? He has weapons in his home! As a convicted felon, I would think he would not be allowed to even be near guns! This whole law is crazy! What about Governor Newsom? Compassion? One of the Mansion murderers was just released, now this man! Whose next? Richard Ramirez? Remember him? What compassion did these violent criminals show towards their victims?

The department of correction must do a risk assessment before even considering letting this guy go. I think he is a high risk of reoffending and worse to do it viciously towards the family he caused harm. I’m not sure why the legislation make those type of decisions without considering the impact they cause to the community. If I could sign the petition to keep this murder locked up, I would. It’s like he’s murdering her all over again.
