This was my final project for my video production class. I'm very proud of this video. When it comes to creating narratives i've been told to "write what I know." With that in mind, I know very much about mental health and wanted to create something about Social Anxiety Disorder, something I suffer from.
Feedback on my videos is always welcome!
~Enjoy!~

Every time I say something in class that I actually got the sudden boost to say i instantly regret it, the class just goes silent and I feel like everyone is judging me.

I felt the same way when I was in school. I was scared to say anything or raise my hand bc I was worried someone might judge me. Here's some advice that has really helped me: these worries of being judged are all in your head.... but if people do seem to react like they're judging or making fun of you that's on THEM. That says NOTHING about you or should make you feel bad, if anything it proves that theres something wrong with them.

Also, after having conversation, you keep replaying it in your head for hours and days and weeks to see if you make a mistake and if they think you’re a horrible person because of what u said...yeah.

I completely understand that feeling. But! Good news! You're not alone, there's a bunch of people out there that experience those same fears/bad mental habits, and you can 100% get through these fears and make them more manageable :) therapy is dope!!!

I just had a job interview and told the interviewer that I was super nervous. He was so nice and understanding. Once we got into the questions he tried to make it conversational not too formal. He made some jokes and distracted me from my feelings. Best interview ever 🙌.

Yip! How on earth are you supposed to get a job when you suffer from social anxiety!? A very good point. Unfortunately there is only one way out and that is face the "illusion" that is fear. Don't let fear win by backing down, I knows its extremely difficult but think of how good you will feel when you face the fear. I'm talking to myself here and anyone who needs to hear it :) Good luck everyone!

It's so hard. And you're absolutely right! The only way out of social anxiety is facing the fear // exposure therapy. (and some self-love too) you're not alone :) and it's very doable to enhance yourself even when your negative thoughts don't think you can :) Thanks for sharing!!

I agree. I was in therapy once, and I had so much anxiety before and during every visit because I didn't know what to say and this was putting me even more on the spot to speak.

Say sike rn, cause we all know we’d be busy trying to come up with something to reply but then so much time would have passed and now it feels awkward not replying and you tell yourself to not reply

LMAOOOOO I've spent so much time rephrasing and "choosing the right words" for a text, esp in the context of the short film. I feel that.

Of course its easy to socialise with alcohol. This is how we turn easily to an addictive person. And things will get just worst.I dont think there is a solution for us.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm glad you're still here!! My best advice is that exposure therapy works, seek resources regarding not being hard on yourself, and that therapy is SUPER helpful. Something to remember regarding therapy is that if a specific therapist doesn't work for you, that's okay!! It's trial and error! Keep searching until you find a therapist that works for you :)

Hi. Well done. I think you were brave making a film on a subject so close to home. Also thank you for releasing it under the Creative Commons Attribution License. I would like to use the Therapist Scene in a Free course I'm creating to go on Udemy called Basic Sound Design for Beginners. Is this covered by the license? A little confused by the jargon when I read the rules. Thanks Liam
