Glad the guys doing well👍had mine over a year and eats most frozen, I just don't defrost the cubes first to give him a chance before it's snow in the water column and Masstick once a week as a treat, just mix up small amounts as I need it and stick it to a piece of plastic and hang it in the tank. He's a model citizen with lots of BTAs but I don't have Acans luckily!

Great update! I have a CBBF and struggled for weeks and weeks to get him to eat something - anything (aside from picking at live rock). Eventually I tried frozen blackworms (usually for freshwater fish) and he scoffs them down! That is the only prepared food he eats. Other than that, he picks at 8 feet of live rock. I've had him for about 6mo now and he's doing well.
@Merknilash
@Merknilash Жыл бұрын
CBBs are so weird I threw the kitchen sink at it and he wouldn't touch mysis or mastick but is now finally eating frozen clams that thaw in the water by picking at them. He ignored the live blackworms I just put in however. Perhaps he needs to be a little hungrier.

Loving the white tail bristletooth tang, definately on my wish list. But concerned that my 1000L reef tank won't be big enough for 5 tangs already got (yellow, purple, regal and a desjardini sailfin). How many reef tokens did it cost you?

Hey, I’m planning on setting up a 48”x24”x24” 120 gallon mixed reef tank. What would be a good budget reef tank lighting. I looked into leds, T5’s and led t5 hybrids but I’m not sure what I should get as I’m in a tight budget. Please reply. It would be of great help.
@ReefDork
@ReefDork 3 жыл бұрын
Depends how tight the budget is. My Evergrows are fantastic and much cheaper than Radions. But I don't have much experience with anything cheaper I'm afraid. T5s might be the answer...

If the fish isn't starving and is eating regularly, what would be the issue? Does anyone know what makes them die for no reason? It's mixed information everywhere Perhaps we just need the captive bred operations to get more widespread and just eliminate the wild caught problems completely.
@ReefDork
@ReefDork Жыл бұрын
In most cases, I suspect it'll be because the fish isn't being fed enough or isn't being fed the right food. People often say "he's eating fine" but if that means they're only feeding once a day, or only brine shrimp, that's not enough.

I find your experiences with Copperbands to be pretty odd... I have 2 copperbands in my 90 gallon and both have been thru double rounds of QT and are pigs. The only secret to keeping a CBB long-term is to supplement their diet with clams. Clams are the best for finky eaters. I've been successful with CBBs, Moorish Idols, Regals, many other "difficult" fish. Its all a myth when you use little neck clams.
