Copper radiator complete clean out process

Жыл бұрынA complete start to finish copper core radiator clean out. I've been doing this now for over 20 years and have just relocated from one end of New Zealand (the deep, deep south of Invercargill.) to the other (Mangawhai) and am starting up a new radiator repair business. I will be posting some alloy brazing videos up in the next couple of weeks.

Interesting....I've an offroad truck with a rad leak on both left and right ends...considering a DIY repair...what kind of solder is best? and why wouldn't you braze it?

@@Monty_NSW you wouldn’t braze it because then you would melt the solder around the tubes. I have had people try then bring them in for me to resolder all the leaks around all of the tubes. Depends how much distance you have between the tubes and the leaking edge of the tank. Some old cars have plenty of room to give it a go yourself. Some do not and you’ll make a heap of leaks around the tubes when you heat it up. Cheaper for a radiator shop to repair it than have to put a new core in it if you muck it up.

What did you use to rod the radiator channels?

@@PaulRM329 I get clean out rod from a radiator manufacturer. Also you can use drain clean rod or old spring steel from lawnmower pull starts. Lots of options as long as it fits down the tubes.
