@@IntuitiveTennis hi meant when playing a game it’s gets confusing who serves next and when we rotate sides when playing doubles. In tennis class me and a bunch of the students are always confused which side we serve and when we rotate to serve. It’s intuitive to some but for many of us it’s not. 😔sides (meaning advantage and deuce side)

@@vashts718 if pair A/B plays against pair C/D and pair A/B serves first here is the rotation: A serves first and pair C/D must decide who will be on the deuce side and who will be on the add until end of set; C serves second and pair A/B must decide who will be on the deuce side and who will be on add side until end of set; B serves third; D serves fourth; and back to A to serve.

Love this ❤️ I’m very solid and comfortable hitting flat overheads with direction, but I get a lot of accidental slice almost always on the serve, because I treat them completely differently in my mind and get bogged down on wrist positions (deathly afraid of being told I have a waiters serve 😂) racquet drop depth etc, and lose fluidity and the most important factor which is contact. I can’t wait to try this and try to stop micromanaging all of the complex moving parts. The serve mechanics are by far the hardest part of tennis for me personally so maybe I just need to stop overthinking it. It’s so frustrating to have a pretty complete game, yet spin in serves that often start the point neutral instead of putting them in a defensive position right of the bat.

@@IntuitiveTennis why would old tennis balls be an issue unless you want to practice your kick serve and see the ball height bounce? I find serving any tennis ball as an opportunity to practice accuracy serving wide or down the T.

What is are your thoughts on the types of serves to use vs. your height? Should someone 5'9" or shorter still be trying to develop a maximum speed flat serve? Or should they be focusing more on kick and slice?

Hi Nik I hit my serve with with a mild Eastern grip. I don't think this is 'wrong' is it..? I have a very slicey serve and I can also flatten it out. Its not the fastest but its a tricky serve that can't easily be attacked. I know conti is the textbook for serving but there are pros who don't use it i.e.Boris - I wonder why he didn't use it - maybe a habit that just stuck from being a kid.?

@spooky1304 12 күн бұрын
@@chuckdeless9891 Thats interesting - do you know why..? When I really flatten out with eastern its definitely fast - must be around 100mph - but not the fastest. Overall I do more damage slower with more spin. My coach is elite level (in singles only narrowly lost to slam winner) and has to return my best serves defensively.

I imagine youre primarily using your wrist to generate power. This will lead to wrist injuries if done on a regular basis

@@danieltowers9328what’s wrong with using your wrist for making power? You have to pronate for racquet head speed
@danieltowers9328
@danieltowers9328 12 күн бұрын
@JV-py3lg with the Eastern grip he will be bending the wrist back and forwards. A tennis racket is too heavy for this type of movement. Pronation with the wrist is there to assist the arm, but should never be the primary source of power
