I hope fang has more babies, Spear would be a great Dino Grandaddy. In the sense of how we refer to our dogs as fur babies and essentially fang is spears scaly baby so the connection makes sense.

Being an animal, she sees things more objectively, making her more cautious and analytical than Spear, who is very bold because he can suppress his fear. This is the first time we see her wanting to do something dangerous and Spear trying to "talk" her down. The dynamics switched a little bit

Man the way Fang's leg was twitching as she tried to stand despite the pain, I could feel that.

She wants to help him but her leg is still recovering. Fang cares about Spear as shown here but he wants her to rest and not make it worse.

One of the things I found somewhat interesting about this scene, is that it feels the closest yet to hearing Spear use actual words. When he calms Fang down he's making deliberate sounds.

I like how spear calms her down like guys you know they have great communication

I love how Spear just rubs her snout after telling her to rest. This show still amazes me with how simple and heartfelt little actions can be between Spear and Fang.

Spear: "Easy girl."

Fang's expression says it all: "SPEAR! You're hurt!" "Don't worry... I'll help you." "I'm *not* gonna let you suffer."

Poor Fang she wants to help so bad.

The physical affection these two share as mere friends is something that really speaks to me, as I'm one to make gestures with actions opposed to words, it is really quite heartwarming to see something that I can essentially relate to...

0:47 its just something about the sound of that wooden blunt object reverberating off the skull of that hyena that just resonates with my inner Unga Bunga and makes me laugh to the brink of tears.

Spear really cares about Fang. And Fang is taming to Spear. Getting an animal to not fight when you when you are trying to help it recover from an injury is TOUGH, but it shows the strength of her trust that Spear can ease her down and make her feel safe. Injury is TERRIFYING to animals, but especially predators. They have some instinctive understanding of how vulnerable they are - to other predators, to starvation - when injured. This may be Alley Oop by way of David Cronenberg, but Tartakovsky did his homework in how animals think and behave under stress.

While I know Fang is Spears equal and not a pet, dangit its still cute when she has her "She's kinda just a giant dog" moments. Like when Spear touches her nose. It's such a "fine MOM" reaction from her and its priceless.

They're bond is so strong It's enough to make a grown man cry

There are some Oscar winning writers whose dialogue couldn’t convey what scenes like this do, without a single word.

Fang: ack. I’m fine I just need to- Spear: fang you are in no condition to fight. i though I lost you at the arena and I already lost a family and I don’t want to lose you too. Fang:.... fine just...be safe, alright? *she goes down to get some rest* Spear: don’t worry I can handle them.

Believe it or not 1:26 that was epic as Spear calms fang

It’s weird because Fang is clearly upset that spear is fighting the hyenas off or wild dogs on his own and getting clawed up for it-to the point she really tries to put herself through some hell until spear tells her in caveman speak that she needs to lay down until her leg heals more. You can even see it in her face when he gets back in the cave!

This show can be hard for me to watch, especially this episode. Hyenas may not be dogs, but close enough... I love dogs. But I just d’aww at Fang’s reaction. She’s still a mommy.

I know spear will likely never get over his family’s death.... but do you think spear thinks of fang as more than a friend? He treats her like family and never leaves her side, helping her heal when she was almost killed and even avenged her after he thought she was dead by killing an entire tribe of monkey people

I am HOOKED! wow....extraordinary would be scratching the surface of the emotion I feel watching this series...so well made..has me jumping all over my living room lol!

They’ve really bonded as a team, and this makes me think. The one thing I don’t want happening is if spear finds another human and wants to raise another family, fang might feel jealous or abandoned and intervene by killing the person spear was going after. And then previous conflict between the two will come back again.
