We recently took a mini break on a 3 night cruise on the Princess Cruises' Coral Princess from Brisbane. Here is the full cabin tour of our balcony cabin E232.
E232 is a balcony cabin, or Stateroom, located on the Port side of Deck 8 of the Princess Cruises' Coral Princess. It is towards the front of the ship but we felt very little movement in the cabin during our cruise.
The cabin was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and more than enough storage and power points for our needs. The only real drawback to this class of cabin is that the shower is very small. We managed fine but anyone larger or taller than us might find it a little constricted.
The dividing screens on the balcony can be opened up with the cabin next door which would be ideal for families or groups travelling together.
Why not check out our other videos about the Coral Princess in the Coral Princess Playlist.
As usual, any questions please post in the comments and we will be happy to try to answer them for you.

We went on the Coral back in 2008 to the Panama Canal and we loved this ship (still think she is the best one Princess has along with the Island). We had cabin C332, it is the same internal layout and size as E232 but you get a much larger balcony. The only downside is that the outer edge of the balcony is overlooked by the decks above.

Hi and thanks for dropping by and commenting. We would love to do the Panama Canal and it is on our bucket list. Have a 'bucket' load of Carnival FCCs to use up first though. The balcony was quite small but adequate for our use and we loved the fact that it wasn't overlooked. Take care.

Hi Mairi. Thanks for dropping by and for leaving a comment. we had a fantastic cruise thanks but unfortunately it was only a short 3 night one and is now over. We took lots of footage though and are in the process of making a number of videos about the Coral Princess so if that is something that might interest you please check back over the coming days. We will also be on the Pacific Encounter in September though and will be doing the same on that cruise. Take care, Rob & Ali.

Hi guys, thanks so much for the great room tour. My wife and I will be going on the Coral Princess in September and will have a similar cabin to yours as shown here. It is always good to know beforehand what to expect. Thank you for highlighting the powerpoints - we will remember to bring a US adaptor. You mention that you will be doing a video on the Medallion and its use. Can you advise when that video will be available please? Thanks again.🚢

Hi Kevin, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. We usually have an oceanview and this was our first time with a balcony. We thought it was definitely worth the extra. Not sure if the cabins are any bigger but having that big window certainly makes them feel bigger and being able to go outside and feel being on the ocean from your cabin is fantastic. The footage we took for the medallion is not quite as good as we would have hoped so it's taking a little longer to piece something together. We are hoping to have something up on the medallion and App in the next week or so though. Hope this helps. Take care.

Lovely stateroom Princess only have a sofa in their mini suites but this is fine for a short cruise. We are on the Coral in September same in a deluxe balcony on Carine deck 9 looking to it

Hi Diana. Thanks for dropping by and for leaving a comment. If we had been on a longer cruise then a sofa might have been nice. We did think about going with the mini suite but we have some other cruises booked this year and this was just a last minute addition so we just went with the standard balcony. As it was we spent most of the time around the ship so didn't really use the cabin much. Take care.

Hi Mandii. Thanks for dropping by and for leaving a comment. Unfortunately you cannot get a kettle in your cabin on Princess ships in Australia. However, there is 24 hour cabin service and you can order whatever you want on your medallion App so, hopefully, that will compensate.

I’m thinking of doing it in December. Is it good to go for 12th floor at the back ?

Hi Deboo and thanks for watching. Deck 12 is directly under the Lido deck. Decks under the lido or restaurants can sometimes be quite noisy. Also decks at the back of the ship can sometimes feel vibration from the engines and propellors. However, the back of the ship on deck 12 on the Coral Princess is under the fitness centre and is quite high up. We do not have personal experience of that part of the ship but would say that this should be a pretty good choice for a cabin. Midships is the best for stability but you would lookfor a deck where there are cabins above rather than public areas. Hope this helps.

We’re there any charging areas (usb or otherwise) next to the beds? We are taking our 4 year old September 3 and we have to charge all the devices 😂. Did you do any excursions?
@robandalicruisetravel
@robandalicruisetravel 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for dropping by and for leaving a comment. In the double stateroom that we had there were no charging facilities actually 'next' to the beds but there were on the desk which was on the other side of the bedside table which was not far away and the devices would certainly reach to the bedside table on one side of the bed. There were 2 USB ports and an Australian mains socket there. You can see this in our video at about the 5m 47s point. There were also US mains sockets on the wall on the other side of the desk (after the desk in the video) and where the TV used to be (round about the 7m 15s mark in the video) so no shortage of charging options. Although the US ones are only 110V with an adapter they will charge devices. You can get a device that plugs into the mains socket and has a number of USB Ports if you need them. Hope this helps. As for excursions, this was only a 3 night cruise so we didn't actually stop anywhere to do any excursions. If there was somewhere or something in particular you are thinking about let us know as we've done quite a few of the Qld and Pacific Islands ones. Hope you have a fantastic cruise in September.

@@robandalicruisetravel we are actually US citizens here for 2 years so we haven’t been anywhere as we arrived in December and live in Canberra. Trying to decide what to do at each stop of our 10 day cruise to Queensland. We are very excited, as is our 4 year old! Guess I’ll bring my US hair dryer etc instead of my Australian ones since they will work at the desk! Thanks so much for the reply! Any advice on what to do in Brisbane, Airle Beach, Cairns and Port Douglas are appreciated!

@@robandalicruisetravel from your channel it looks like you live near Brisbane. Would you do the Zoo or Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary? Keeping in mind we have a 4 year old.
@robandalicruisetravel
@robandalicruisetravel Жыл бұрын
Hi Elizabeth. We live in Forest Lake, South West of Brisbane. Australia Zoo is fantastic but might be a lot for a 4 year old, it's a massive place and it's over an hour each way from the terminal. Also, it depends on whether you are thinking of doing this independently or on a ship tour. We would probably suggest staying away from independently as that stretch of motorway regularly has hold-ups and you would not want to be late back to the ship. I'm not sure of the timings for the ship tour but you really need a good amount of time to get round it so if it's only a couple of hours that you have it might not be worth it. When we go we generally get there around 10ish and stay until 4 or 5pm. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a lot closer to the ship so less travelling and also smaller so might be a safer option for a 4 year old. Certainly not on the same scale as Australia Zoo with nowhere near the same range of attractions but we have had enjoyable days out there. In summary, if your 4 year old is OK with the travel and the walking, and you get a decent amount of time at the Zoo then definitely go with that. Otherwise Lone Pine is a nice day out.

Hi Elizabeth. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this but settle in for a lengthy response as there's a lot to say about your question. Depending on when you are cruising our responses may be slightly different as what to do depends to some degree on the weather. In Brisbane if the weather is good then a trip to Southbank would definitely be one of our top recommendations. There is a huge man-made beach and swimming area that we're sure your 4 year old would love and easy walk from there to the big wheel, museums, City and Riverlife where you can hire electric minibikes, kayaks and other adventure things. There are also some lovely restaurants at Southbank and a 'pick your own' herb garden. You've already mentioned trips to Australia Zoo and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for some wildlife which are great options too. If you're in the City then the City Hopper is a free service and a nice way to just kick back and view the City from the River or visit areas like New Farm Park and the Powerhouse which regularly has exhibitions or performances on. Finally, if you're feeling adventurous you could do the Bridge Climb although the minimum age for that is 6 so would not really be suitable to do as a family. Great if one of you wanted to do it and the other stay with your child though. Airlie Beach also has a similar public pool but not a lot else to do around, lots of water based options from the ship but, to be honest, we think they're a little pricey for what they are. If you feel like splashing out on a ship tour though I believe that the Crocodile Safari is very good. We haven't been on it ourselves but we're thinking of booking it for our upcoming trip. Cairns just has to be a trip out to the reef and/or a Kuranda trip on the rail and Skyrail (if it's operating again). You have a choice of old wooden train or cable car for the ascent and decent, you choose which or one of each. Port Douglas is a lovely place with a relaxed pace. Check out the markets if they are on. We are happy to answer any more questions that you have as we love to share our cruising knowledge and experiences, just ask.

Is the only seating in the room the chair that goes under the desk?
@robandalicruisetravel
@robandalicruisetravel 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Janet, thanks for dropping by and for the comment. In the balcony cabin, yes that is the only seat. There are a couple of chairs on the balcony that you could bring inside if you needed to I guess. Some friends of ours in on board at the moment in a mini-suite and they have a sofa as well. We did look at that option but decided that for the time we were going to actually spend in the cabin it wasn't really worth the extra expense for us.

@@robandalicruisetravel Thanks for the reply and so quick. We have always had a small sofa in every balcony cabin we stayed in. You mentioned you will have a sofa on another cruise, is that on a different ship not the Coral Princess?

Thanks Janet. We are on the Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas for New Years Eve and the balcony cabins on there have a sofa in them. We have not been on Royal Caribbean before and it looks fantastic so we are really looking forward to that one, especially as it is New Year. We are also on the P&O Pacific Encounter in September but that is an Ocean View cabin, not a balcony one.
