Thomas has never seen Coraline, so we're forcing him to watch everyone's favorite family-friendly horror movie! People talk about how this movie is "too much for kids" or "terrified them as children", but is it really THAT scary? We'll find out as we drag our horror-adverse friend into one of the greatest halloween movies of all time. In November.

Coraline - 2009
While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door, behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better. She rejoices in her discovery, until Other Mother (Teri Hatcher) and the rest of her parallel family try to keep her there forever. Coraline must use all her resources and bravery to make it back to her own family and life.

Someone will point this out too but Mr. Bobinsky is canonically a veteran chernobyl liquidator, you can tell by the medal he wears, and his skin tone might be saying he has radiation poisoning. I have huge respects for the chernobyl liquidators, if they failed, most of europe would be uninhabited. kind of sad to see the people who saved the world be forgotten.

This is true proof that stop motion truly is the most timeless form of animation, as this movie looks as good today as it did when it came out.

The interesting thing about stop motion is that unlike digital 3D animation, it isn't as limited by the current technology, so I do think it is naturally more timeless. While it uses the same principles as other animation mediums, it's production is much closer to live action than anything.

Just cause I haven’t seen it posted, when writing the book this movie is based off of, Neil Gaimen was told by his editor it was too scary for kids and he had to rethink it. So he made a bet with her, read it to her daughter and if she’s too scared he’ll rework it, but if not they publish as is. So the editor did and the daughter had her read the entire book. Years later at an event Neil ran into the daughter and he had to thank her for her help in getting the book published. He told her the story about the bet with her mom. The girl just laughed and admitted to him “oh I was absolutely terrified by the book, but it was just so interesting I had to see how it ended.”

2:10 the mushroom circle is a gateway to a spirit realm or something in some cultures and Coraline stepping in it allows the Beldam to extend her reach to her and influence Coraline with the rats running to the little door later. Now, this movie has left its mark on generations, but how will our squad, living in this fast-paced microwave society, react to this epic romance and disaster? [Cut to the movie's iconic opening scene with young Rose staring at the Titanic sailing.] Reacting Girl 1: Wait, is that Leonardo DiCaprio? He's so young and cute! Reacting Guy 1: Seriously, this movie is like a time capsule. Look at those hairstyles and fashion choices! [Cut to the scene where Jack saves Rose from jumping off the ship.] Reacting Girl 2: Jack and Rose's chemistry is off the charts! I wish I had a love like that. Reacting Guy 2: Hold on, did they really have to draw her like one of those French girls? Classic move, Jack! [Cut to the intense climax of the ship hitting the iceberg.] Reacting Guy 3: The suspense is killing me! Even though I know what happens, I'm on the edge of my seat. Reacting Girl 3: I can't believe they're not turning the ship in time! It's like watching a disaster in slow motion. [Cut to the emotional ending scene where Jack sacrifices himself for Rose.] Reacting Girl 4: No, no, no! Why did Jack have to die? I can't handle this. It's so heartbreaking. Host: And there you have it, folks! Another movie night with the Microwave Society squad. Titanic still tugs at the heartstrings, even in our fast-paced world. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe if you enjoyed our reactions. See you next time for more movie madness! Stay awesome, Microwave Society!

It’s crazy that this is a kids movie which it shows disturbing things in the movie. Even they show the old lady b00bs.I can imagine a young age children watching it and what they saw made their eyes so wide and maybe scream for being to scary

I remember watching this movie when I had a fever and thinking it was the biggest trip I’ve ever had. Ended up watching it again a couple years later and figured out that It wasn’t fever hallucinations and that it all actually happened
