Corb Lund, one of our favorite singer/songwriters (and #HooeyParty alum), made it all the way down from the Canadian Rockies to join us for a Hooey “Jambulance Session” presented by Lone Star Beer. This cut is “S Lazy H” - the powerful story of the struggle to save our ranches and farms from commercial development. Recorded at the historic Twin Sisters Dance Hall.
The Hooey Jambulance was first converted by a few young saddle bronc riders with a plan. Jeremy Melancon, Jacobs Crawley and Sterling Crawley began their professional rodeo careers looking for a unique way to chase their ambitions across North America. Now the Jambulance embarks on a new journey - to capture authentic music in some of our favorite venues.

Song hits too close for comfort on too many levels, great song for all us on our own Ranches.

This is a great song. Corb is a great story teller. We really do need to save our ranches. They are disappearing too fast.

Mr. Lund, if this comment finds its way to you, please chalk it up there with many others you’ve surely had mentioning great thanks to you for putting a song so perfectly wrote. Husband and I are recent discoverers of your music and after emotionally getting to the point that he could share this song with me after listening to it for two days alone, I now have played it countless times today and unable to listen to it without crying... it just hits home and feels so good to know that we are not alone on an island with the daily thoughts we have of working towards and holding onto a dream 🙂 May God continue to bless your journey in life and we look forward to listening to your music for years to come... I have to assume that the 2 people that gave this a thumbs down were the sister and her attorney husband. 😆 Heartbreaking song. Beautiful. 😍

One of these days CORB & the HURTIN ALBERTANS will win entertainer of the year etc. At the big U.S. country music award shows. He is a fantastic singer/songwriter/guitar player with a kickin band!!!! - let’s face it, they are an authentic band & IAN TYSON-(Canada’s best country-Alberta-cowboy singer/songwriter/guitarist) works with Corb Lund & they play shows together, this relationship has been going on for many years. Tyson would not work with just anybody!

Ian Tyson penned songs that told the true stories of many Canadians. I think "Four Strong Winds" is one of the most Canadian songs songs ever, in its depiction of how the simple need for paid employment will separate people across this great land. As powerful a statement as any coal miner's dirge or fisherman's tune from down east. Corb is similarly authentic in his depiction of real everyday life for many folks on the prairies. He sings what he knows, and keeps his eyes open to know more about the folks around him. That's a *real* "folk singer". A genuine fellow who writes genuine songs about genuine life.

It's too bad that Corb Lund is too good for mainstream appeal.

No, it's not. He can stay true to his music with main stream obscurity. All the better for him and us that know of him.
