Milwaukee M12 Cordless Hammer.
Stuff I used in the video:
Milwaukee M12 Hammer: amzn.to/3ROBEdG
Air(cordless) Hammer bits .401 : amzn.to/3the7J8
After Thoughts about the Video: .498 shank air hammer bits are too big. The Standard .401 you find with most air hammers is what this needs. It works surprising well and I think it has a lot of potential. There is a cheaper Power Hammer made by Skil( amzn.to/3RP6anW ) that I was going to try first but it has less power in head to head tests. This Milwaukee seamed to be the strongest on the market.

Milwaukee made a corded electric hammer decades ago. It was basically a hammer drill minus the rotation. I've got one sitting in my garage.

I'm not really sure why hammer drills tend not to have the option to disable rotation like rotary hammers do. It would be nice to have.
@mattblattel8106
@mattblattel8106 8 ай бұрын
@@dsgamecube it has to do with the mechanism itself. On a hammer drill it's a totally different mechanism than a rotary hammer, and yes they could theoretically incorporate the rotary hammer style into a drill but it would just be so unwieldy and job specific very few people would want to use it as an actual drill, especially if the market already supplies the rotary hammer.

An SDS+ cordless rotary hammer also works well instead of an air hammer or palm nailer. The downside is it’s much more bulky, and you need to use the SDS+ bits instead of normal air hammer bits

There are numerous people online using these for dent removal, for metal shaping and riveting. Using both cordless and air powered units. Conventional bits can be bought and used, bought and modified or even made out of coach bolts etc to provide the shape required for the job in hand. A good example would be on Sheetmetal and hammer forms

With all the cordless tools out there, it is a little surprising an "auto-hammer" hasn't been introduced. Milwaukee should thank you for the concept. A clever engineer could come up with an adapter kit for existing tools, though that would eliminate the need for a brand new tool. An adapter tip for the standard 1/4" hex impact would potentially do the same thing.

Unfortunately $55 IR air hammer is alot cheaper than a $150 Milwaukee nailer but it could be handy in a pinch if I was in a remote area and needed a make shift air hammer for a emergency repair. I have a craftsman nextec I mite, have to try out and see how it works now. I'm curious if the skill one is more powerful also. I seen another guy do this same thing in another video. It's definitely interesting!! I doubt you will see a cordles hammer due to the piston vs a dog style impact variable the piston in a air impact is extremely efficient and without air its just not as powerful but its a Cool video, man good job!!

I am confused. DeWalt has been making 18v and 20v battery powered Rotary Hammers (different than the Hammer Drills they also market) such as their 273B for some time now. On them you set the function by a dial. Drill, drill and hammer, or just hammer. Although they were intended for working stone, when a point bit becomes too worn to bust up a slab of concrete (or granite), since an SDS bit is primarily carbon steel, making it magnetic is 3rd grade simple, as is grinding the point end flat and tempering that. Voila, instant nail hammer. Actually once a point (or even chisel or twist drill) has worn down to the point where the tungsten carbide tip is gone, nothing prevents reshaping it into whatever you want, be it a screw driver, or a cutter bit, and tempering to suit the new purpose.

Very interesting hammer mechanism in there. I imagined they managed to fit an electro-pneumatic hammer in there like you would fine in a demo hammer or SDS rotary hammer. But this is something else entirely. Kinda bummed that its only a 12V tool and powered by a brushed tin can motor. A great alternative to an air hammer is a cordless SDS demo hammer. Much heavier and larger ofc than this palm hammer but boy are they powerful they have a much higher impact energy than air hammers. But id imagine if Milwaukee upsizes this palm hammer a bit, makes it 18V and brushless for more power and gives it a stronger hammer mechanism this tool can take legitimately replace air hammers.
