I lived in Córdoba for 2 years. Miss it and love it, hearing the accent brings back great memories!

Alfredo passed away a couple of years ago... I miss him so much.He was an amazing English teacher and he always put extra effort to help all his students.I hope all his students can see this video to keep remembering his good teachings and good sense of humor in class.

Oh, that's sad.. based on this video he had a very soothing voice and sounded like a native English speaker, no doubt he was a great teacher and touched a lot of students like you

Very good and simple explanation. With one simple rule you can mimic most people over here. Of course there are variants, but it is quite good.

Asì no tanto.

The rule should be applied only in a single word Alfredo!, "cordoooobé" is right, "laaaaa mesa" is wrong... Cheers
@1minatur7 жыл бұрын
Not from what I heard. When I lived down there I definitely heard laaa mesa.
@AlfredoCappelli6 жыл бұрын
Tenes toda la razon...la mesa is not right. Worst example of lengthening a syllable..

"La" is not stressed, so it's linked to the following word.

Che el tipo es argentino y vive en cordoba, no es cordobes, solamente esta explicando como generar el acento.

Nice explanation but not completely true. "Laaaaa mesa" sounds like they talk in "traslasierra" not the generic accent in the rest of the province of Córdoba. Inside the province you have different accents, it's not the same if you're from the south of the province or the north or the east or the west. Some of the expamples he gave are from one part of it.

Trust me, that is not a real cordobes accent. You can tell he's faking it. I'm yet to meet a non-cordobes person that can do the accent correctly...
