Hi great videos. Can you clarify. If I rotate to the left the left external oblique should lengthen and the right external oblique should shorten. Do you agree? I can't really see that on the video. Am I missing it?

i see what you are saying,.. please remember muscles don’t always contract all their fibers to realize one movement - different portions are responsible for different movements at different phases of a movement,.. the deltoid is a good example. also remember that most of the time there are multiple Muscles involved to realize a motion or function. so one for example initiates the movement then another one kicks in and so forth. so to you question there are some fibers of the obliques that shorten while others lengthen- depending on the phase of the movement,.. hope that makes sense and I understand your questions correctly,..

Does the serratus get activated when workig out the external obliques?
@AnatomyLab
@AnatomyLab Жыл бұрын
interesting question,.. depends what you mean by activated,.. they are neighbors and there will be movement in the muscle when you move your trunk,.. also there are fascia connections so there is pull and so forth,.. you will have increased blood flow,.. does this help?
@AnatomyLab
@AnatomyLab Жыл бұрын
also you gotta remember that the different muscle don’t exist in reality , we are one muscle that is subdivided in compartments,.. we subdivide them to study them, assign the function and so forth,.. hope this makes sense
