To be fair, Layne and Jerry together was just so fucking special. They complimented each other perfectly, would like to hear Aaron do it with Jerry though.
@troydean5702

It took a long time for Layne to coax jerry out of his shell. He wouldn't of ever been what he is without Layne. Layne was his biggest supporter and fan. It was more then the voices it was also how it was written. The timing made as much of a difference. If you changed the timing it would of sounded more like these two. Better than these two but we wouldn't come close to noticing how special that actually were. Listen there are a couple grunge era singers that I hold at the top of my My. Rushmore now if you ask me to name my top ten I might be able to complete it without my brain hemorrhaging out of my ears. Now if your asking for my top four, well then I will pass because I feel like living today. Cheers and RIP to many of the best to ever do it, also to rest who wanted to be the best and worked as hard as they could with what they had and still never made it. I respect those who tried and failef much more than those who sit back and criticize others for trying to do something they didn't have the stones to even try.

All of Jerry's vocals were overdubs that were forced. Not a lot of you know much about Alice in Chains. It was a tragedy that Jerry even made a peep over Layne's vocals.

@baldor traveler you build the time machine and I'll take ya. Lol man these shows...I miss them. Aaron started promoting his country, then only doing country, which is fine. I love anything he does. But my favorite thing in the world was from 2006-2012ish he toured solo every single year. Smoked on stage, took request. Sometimes brought out a good guitar player. Did some of the most amazing covers I've ever heard. If you haven't heard Aaron Lewis play 4 non blondes what's up (video from lake Tahoe is generally the best I think) or his 80s medley love bites/I'll remember you/sweet child o mine. (Same venue and camera has a great video of that too). This guy is amazing. So yes, I miss the days when Staind would tour 6 months 🤘🏻 then Aaron would be doing solo shows at select venues the other 6. He would do shows that were raw and unedited. Smoking weed, messing up , forgetting words. Being human. Amazing

Richard Ray Layne had nothing on either of these guys range and was technically terrible compared to both. The vocal delivery style was a preference and Layne was skilled with his delivery but still only had highs to work with
@williamkramer9731

Richard Ray and it's disjointed because Cantrell was one of the best vocalists from a technical standpoint was able to blend with Layne. Layne was not the reason for the vocal harmonies working. Jerry grew up a heavily trained vocalist.

It’s called harmony brother. Something sadly missing from today’s music. Even if the genre isn’t for you, check out how real musicians and vocalists did it back in the early 70’s, à la Laurel Canyon artist’s style, or even, Boys to Men for that matter. Hopefully there’ll be a demand for talent again someday! Peace

Ever since I watched the Chris Cornell tribute video of this song I (a grown ass man) damn near ball my eyes out everytime. Listening to Eddy Vetter and Chris Cornell growing up helped me out through some hellish times in my life (abuse, metal health, and a suicide attempt) if it weren't for them and a handful of other bands/ musicians I wouldn't be here today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my life back in 2003.

And you can tell why. My favorite video to watch from the night, and my favorite part of the show was when Aaron performed 'please'. There's a great video of it. This was so amazing. To see 2 superstars jamming after midnight. Messing up and forgetting the words just like the rest of us. "Hey, you go low I'll go high"❤️❤️❤️
