Why are we even arguing with people over a ranking that’s set in stone she’s number 2 and will be number two for a while and is very deserving hence the reason why she is in fact number 2.

People argue about it because she doesn’t win anything, and to be number 2 without winning tournaments is confusing - but, she still manages to get to QF and SF and she earns a lot of points doing that so she is number 2. Number 1 won 4 1000 titles this year and a grand slam, number 3 grand slam, number 4 three 500 tournaments and I think one 1000 etc. So she kinda doesn’t belong as number 2, but points are point and she’s there:)

She got to number 2 because she won a gram slam last year. And she still deserves it even if she didn’t win the slam because she works hard and consistently makes it deep in the biggest tournaments where you get 750 points for making it to a semifinal. That’s harder than winning a 500 event. She’s done it twice this year 😊. Again, she deserves it.

Of course this math is simple and in that sense she totally deserves it. But other opponents don’t treat her as a threat and fans other than obsessed with her also - even today in Berlin, without number 1,3,4 - number 5 beat her in semis. She’s in top 10, top 7 for sure, but as a number 2 she is weak.

Coco has come back from a set down to win in a lot of matches since the US Open. Even if she lost the first set it would have been a serious fight and I still think she would have won.

The second set had to have been close to slip out of your hands.And if coco was to lose the first set she would take the second and third set with a breeze like shade did against Jabeur in RG quarterfinals.
