I remember my mom playing this on my first day of kindergarten, and she made it a tradition to play it everyday before my first day of school. I started my senior year of high school, and she really wanted to drive me my first day and I let her. She played this song. She played it my junior year and I didn’t think much of it. But this year, tears went down my face. I am accepted into college out of state, and she won’t be present with me. I walked into my first class, red eyes, some of my classmates assumed I was high. This was one of the most powerful moments of my life. I don’t exactly know how to put it into words, how it felt. I love you mom.

I was in a long distance relationship with the man who now is my husband. I sang this song and sent the recording to him one day. This has been our song ever since. Our relationship was so hard in the beginning. The loneliness and longing were so hard to bare some days. This song brings back the beauty of aching hearts in love. I'm so blessed to be married to the love of my life now.

This has been one of my favorite songs ever since the day i first listened to it. On my wedding day it was pouring rain that we almost canceled our photoshoot and the first look. And i was so anxious and i was heading to see my husband for our first look. The rain stopped and one of the most beautiful rainbows appeared. And this song started playing from a distance. And instantly i felt this overwhelming calmness.

I cry every time I hear this song, just like the first time I cried 11 years ago when my late dad played it in his car.

We never had that great of a relationship and I was just too young to fully understand making amends and trying to facilitate a relationship. He died when I was 14 from prostate cancer. I learned things from him, he was a smart man, but damn, I just wish I could've had a real conversation with him, man to man and let him know that I loved him as a dad, but I know he knows wherever he's at now. I was put on to this amazing song by a talented football player named Joe McKnight. He posted it on his MySpace page. Back then he was just in hs but he went on to have a great college and pro career. Sadly, his life was tragically taken this week but I remember no matter how much time past everytime I heard this song throughout the years I would think of him and how he had great taste in music and how deep he was and how secure in his own skin he had to be to be a big tough football player an put a song like that on his page. RIP Joe McKnight.
