In this episode in our series of bonsai techniques we will be covering the late spring trimming of a cork oak that has been pot grown. The purpose of this video to show how to trim a cork oak that has been pot grown for the past two years and has lost it's initial form from in the ground. As the tree has leaved out and harden off, any time after that is an excellent time to cut back strong branches to let air and sunlight back into the structure. If we needed to grow these branches out for girth and thickness I would not be trimming this tree at all.
