Sometimes people look to Jesus for what He can do for them instead of simply for who He is. We often want Him to “perform” for us - to meet our needs and to answer our prayers - but do we seek His face as much as we seek His hand? Gary very clearly twisted the Scriptures. He added his own words. He's not preaching the Word of God. He's preaching the Word of Gary. Open your Bible and compare God's Words to Gary's Words; they're different.

Hello I am so blessed to have found your channel! I have been hooked for about two weeks! I love love love listening to the your sermons! I live in California and attend a Calvary Chapel here and am familiar with their book by book lessons! I love your sons as well! You must be a proud dad! “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by Me” John 14:6 Please save your soul, by repenting and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, ask Him to come into your heart. There is no sin that He can not forgive, except the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. that is rejecting His offer to come to your heart.

Elijah did it in a smaller way for a widow. He multiplied her oil so she could sell it and survive. All the prophets were like facets of Y'shua...Jeremiah was the weeping prophet, Y'shua wept over Jerusalem...look for the similarities...amazing.

Verse 63 why “the flesh “ and not “my flesh “ ? Verse 66 if Jesus was being figuratively not literally why not tell those leaving disciple, they left because this saying was hard to understand ?

I have sat under the teaching of many good teachers but they do not compare well to Gary Hamrick. Perhaps that's because he, like Jesus, is "fully in" and the others were not yet there?

the 5,000 were never "followers" of Jesus Christ, true believers, they were groupies - not unlike groupies "following" a rock band today. they never cared about anything to do with Jesus Christ, they only cared about the next "show" the next sign and wonder, the next meal. There was only one true believer and that was a leper that ran after Jesus Christ begging mercy, who, after being shown mercy and covered with grace, gave praise to the Son of God - but that was in the Testimony of Matthew.

If Jesus explains in John 6:63 that He was only speaking metaphorically or symbolically, then why do many of His disciples still leave Him in John 6:66?

Because they want showy messiah, not someone who wants you to give up everything and pick up your cross and follow him

@@eternalardour appreciate the reply, that’s an interesting interpretation that I’ll have to think more about. To me it seems that they no longer follow him because the teaching about eating flesh and drinking blood is impossible (hard) to accept. Where do you find Jesus teaching about taking up one’s cross in that passage?

@@annapetersen7718Jesus talks about his flesh and blood as the bread from heaven, then the Pharisees ask themselves how he descended from heaven. He then keeps on saying people have to eat his flesh and blood, disciples start complaining and leave, Jesus doesn’t clarify or bring them back, but looks at his apostles and asks if they’ll leave him too. In this chapter, not even the author clarifies what Jesus meant like he usually does. So it can be assumed that Jesus wasn’t speaking metaphorically because of the choice of words and interactions. Jesus isn’t insinuating cannibalism, but a tradition that has long been held since the apostles, which both orthodoxy and Catholics call the Eucharist/communion.

Our Lord could not be clearer in John 6 that he was not speaking in spiritual terms. For the FIRST 1,500 years of Christianity, the Eucharist was believed to be true flesh. The body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. You lead many astray with your modern theology created by man. Come home to Mother Church. The Church instituted by Jesus Christ. The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. JMJ Ora Pro Nobis.

In verse 34 of this chapter, the people sound like today’s welfare recipients. The concept is certainly not new and here is the proof. Why are so many so ungrateful??
