It shouldnt have been deleted. It fits the movie and fills few holes. Now it makes more sense why Henry asks Alex in the hospital why does he dislike him so much. And why Henry says Alex has a lot of opinions and shares them loudly.

Alex is so infuriating. I love him to bits lmao. He's so good at annoying Henry but it's ridiculously endearing and cute. It's amazing how many emotions Henry went through after the post was sent. He went from disbelieving/incredulous, to soft and reluctantly/secretly fond, to pure disgust (watching Alex speak with a mouthful of icecream).

There isn’t a 3 hour version sadly. The director confirmed the movie was 2 hours and 45 minutes but most the footage that didn’t make it in is unedited and didn’t really fit well in the final version. The most we are gonna get is the deleted scenes and possibly a sequel if they decide to make one

Its a great movie and Id love to own a deluxe DVD or Blu-ray edition with all the deleted scenes, making of's, bloopers etc. that we can get!! :) I love having something tangible that doesnt disappear at the whim of a streaming service. this one minute scene was so perfect in showing their (hate) relationship before the misunderstanding was resolved.. also, the cornettos scene was a pivotal scene in the book. Shit like this being left out is why Red, White & Royal Blue shoulda been a series instead of a film. As much as I enjoyed the film, it did need more moments such as this, where we could see how Henry and Alex grew to better tolerate each other and how they slowly began to develop feelings for one another. The chemistry between Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez is so good, that it definitely could have sustained a cute 6-8 episode series. Hopefully if there is a sequel, it’ll be a series.

@@jenniferhuff4895: That’s like 3 films. 3 episodes which are an hour and a half long is a lot and perhaps too unconventional for what is a new IP in the TV show space. A John Wick spin-off, Stranger Things or a Marvel Studios or Star Wars Disney+ show could get away with this. I don’t think Red, White & Royal Blue could. Also, Amazon would probabaly think ‘Why are we releasing 3 films as episodes, when they could have been...3 films!?’. I think 6 episodes 30-45 minutes in length would have worked better. And if they were weekly drops, it would mean 6 weeks of social media chatter versus just 3.

@@ttw162429 my guess is that rather they read the interview given by the director of the film, in which he explicitly states there is no 3 hour version and there never was one. There's a longer version with every scene they shot that was a mess in terms of pacing and flow, and they edited it into a coherent movie from that. He explains this scene too actually! He says with this still in, the tension drops and it flowed better without it, even though it's such a great scene on its own. Definitely read the interview, it's great! I think it's in TeenVogue

They don’t have a 3 he version! They shot 2 hrs and 45 minutes of footage, some of which got cut, as is usual with movies. They will, I’m sure, feed us with more deleted scenes in time.

I’m glad they filmed this scene and all but I still like the book version more. Henry came in by mistake in his tshirt in the middle of the night. His hair was messy and he wasn’t expecting to see anyone. He took the ice cream box from Alex’s quarters but he didn’t take the ice cream until he had Alex’s approval. And before he left he commented “Huh I didn’t know you wear glasses.”

Exacly like in novel excep henry is in pajama which leaves alex surpirse that despite henrys flawless exterior hes is ordinary human wearing a pajama. Sad they have to cut this scene in the movie
