Two and a half straight weeks of clouds and rain prevented me from taking this out of the box. I typically don’t review equipment that I deem expensive but in fact this is likely the cheapest and best option for solar imagers on a budget. At 400mm you get a nice framing of our Sun. There’s a bit of a focus learning curve but otherwise very easy to use. I was especially impressed visually. It’s the second dedicated solar instrument I’ve had the privilege of seeing thru. The price point is high but considering other similar marketed items it’s quite reasonable. The small 40mm aperture should not discourage an enthusiast as you know how bright the Sun is. I was impressed with it and see its potential to produce amazing photos. It’s unfortunate that you need to do some gear hacking to get a DSLR within focus range. You will have to settle with a webcam with a barlow element screwed into the nosepiece otherwise. I was really hoping to share video as I saw it visually thru a 9mm. Quite beautiful. Questions encouraged. Clear skies.
