I lost a male relative to suicide and for a long time I thought my life was ruined and things would never be the same. Now I dedicate myself to helping men’s mental health awareness. I wasn't expecting this, wow emotional. This is going to be a heartbreaking week for his family, brilliantly told and acted out

People were saying how Aidan was laughing and joking in the pub that night. I never saw that. And this scene proves he wasn't. Why didn't anyone notice how weird he was acting? Nobody was talking to him which was sad too. Any act of kindness toward Aidan that night could have swayed his decision not to do what he did. Nobody was noticing him though. How tragic! 😢

This is such a sad scene. I had floods coming out of my eyes. I cry a lot st Corrie deaths but this one will stay with me, we got to see Aidan’s final moments before he died. This is very effective as we can see the sadness and pain in his face. Well done Corrie team and Shayne Ward

This is just so moving. Can definitely relate to this myself after overcoming 2 attempts on my life before. And everyday is a struggle mentally. I'm sure this will help a lot of people out there. #itsoknottobeok

March 2021 still watching this storyline best storyline Coronation Street ever did my opinion

I knew it was coming read the articles, and saw the interviews concerning aidans suicide and shayne wards exit from coronation Street ...geared myself up to watch it, but wasn't expecting to be as upset by it as much as I was. so well written , researched, acted and made with such emotion and sensitivity to the subject matter ...no one thinks it will affect them or even begin to imagine or understand how they would feel if they felt this way, but albeit a sad fact of life. within 10 days of me watching it a man I'd known since childhood had committed suicide. I could not believe I knew someone who was one of the 84 men a week in the uk who do the same . and in such a short space of time since seeing a character take his own life in a soap opera. it highlighted a sad situation that lives in reality . what a dark place someone must be in... even if like this fictional character or any man in real life who seem to have everything to live for decide they have no reason to be alive enough to end it all. I feel for anyone who thinks they have no other option but to die. how tragic for the lost and lonely men or women in this. position. well done corrie. you did amazingly.

This is a very sad way to go, poor Aiden.

Remember watching this a few month back. What a great actor Shayne Ward is. Really powerful and relate-able scene.

If you were to look at David and Aidan you could say that David would have been the prime candidate to take his own life especially after his conversation with Gail. But she really didn’t do anything. And I know it’s just a show but sometimes when someone has issues like Aidan and on the surface they seem completely normal the other person doesn’t really hear what they are saying. Or on the other side of that coin the person going through the turmoil doesn’t know how to communicate their problem. Talking is great when both parties are ready to talk and listen. At least that was my experience.

A scene that hits u because of how wide spread this issue and how people can hide their emotions so well suicide us a big issue and Corrie is trying to show that it can happen to anyone this scene is also very powerful

I was crying my eyes out I'm so sad he had to leave and he wasn't able to look after his daughter I feel really sad and the music makes it even more sad

Shane Ward deserves every award going for this storyline he has proved to be a great actor. But a sad storyline my gran commited suicide so bought back memories for the family. Corrie have excelled themselves with this story

Fingers crossed that Corrie doesn't fuck this up. In the past they have shown a limited understanding of complex issues. Hopefully, this can be different.

How did he take his own life? That scene was so powerful. Fantastic acting and bringing up of a topic many feel to ashamed to speak of. It is heartbreaking but something needing more coverage.

Whenever i watch TV i am rarely affected by the storylines but Aidan's mental health story hit me deep :(

Think it was good of them to tackle real life problems and situations. In any kind of media it is always easy to picture a woman as the victim but the same issues can happen and effect males as well.

I understand that they’re trying to raise awareness for depression and suicide but I feel this isn’t topic that they should be making entertainment out of. Ive gone through depression and suicidalness and it was awful

Can someone explain why Aidan killed himself, I know he's got the factory back and if he wanted Eva he could easily receive that, I guess in his mind his wrong doings in his mind couldn't be forgotten, can someone explain your theories on Aidan decided to end his life, I believe this all started after the wedding...

Really well acted. Now I don't want to sound like Surge Land but I have to agree to some extent that Kate Oates has killed off a number of characters who had the potential to continue in the future. I've disagreed with decisions to kill of Aidan and Andy as I think the actors could have been convinced to come back at some point. Andy's plot really went nowhere. It's good to see depression handled here as most of us have it and let us not hope to ever end up like Aidan however while the education is welcome I feel we had missed opportunities for more fitting ends for these characters.

I don’t watch Corrie, so from no knowledge of any story line I don’t see how he has died in this scene. He’s a good actor and I have liked him from X factor days but do I need to watch the whole episode to get what’s going on in these 2 minutes? Or does he die in today’s (wednesday’s) episode

Storyline came out of nowhere.only a couple of days build up.

You know all he had to do was wait two more months for the baby to be proven as his and then he would have something to live for and maybe then he wouldn't have taken his own life like he did
