Mike was a disgusting misogynistic a hole. How Alma survived as long with him as she did, is a testament to her lack of self confidence to be by herself. Thankfully she finally realized she didn't need Mike at all. She became one of the most beloved characters on Corrie because of her viewpoints and compassion. Her death was cruel as she deserved a longer life at peace.

Ida's last month on Corrie, after protesting against Hayley being fired, she got Mike's back up. Her final on screen appearance was sitting with the girls celebrating Hayley' reinstatment. It's unknown if Ida was around when Hayley revealed she was transsexual. In January 2008, when Vera died...Rita spoke of Ida as she had passed as well. Emily then reminisced about Vera, Ivy and Ida and Rita replied..."One out, all out"...(quoting a famous trade union phrase of striking and walking out of work as a group).

@shylinh5939

Unless there was a big storyline around a character or they died, most left very quietly and were immediately forgotten. With a significant turnover of characters, they're not going to have the entire street talking about them, but the occasional mention acknowledging they'd existed would be more authentic.

Its so maddening that Sally is so blind to the scheming two timing rat Greg Kelly Its obvious hes trying to con her out of her money, with some con Hes as bad as Kevin who thinks women should be tied to the kitchen sink & be a baby factory Hes so antiquated ! Sally has come to realise her worth & despite her obsession with love rat Greg she would be better off on her own with her girls Kevins whole attitude regarding Sally when he left her for Natalie Then critised her for her friendship with Chris laying the blame at her door! It was appalling! No wonder she fell out of love with him! He waltzed back into their marriage as if he was doing her a favour! I hope Sal doesnt get hurt or burned by Greg swindling her out of her inheritance! Curley is so funny with his new image! He should have gone with his old one when he was mates with Terry & Kev. He had his scruffy student image Which would have linked in better with Spiders image which seems to attract the females! Loving Spider in Corrie! Hes a breath of fresh air! & given Emily a new lease of life! Tapping into her inner rebel Its brilliant! Still cant get the memory of Emily up that tree with Spider Protesting the preservation of the wildlife of the Red Rec! Thank you EHS, keep them coming We love your dedication even when you've lost enthusiasm for the once great Corrie! I once hated the Batterbys way back in 1996/7 but seeing them now ive kinda changed my mind They arent as bad as i remember Although Les is hard going he has his funny moments As for Janice, Leanne & Toyah they are growing on me all the time! 1:41:53 - This issue with Hayley's tax code seems a bit daft, because she previously worked for Firmans with Alma and Curly, so why wasn't it a problem then? Just seems a silly plot to 'out ' her and force her into an uphill struggle for acceptance, when she was already accepted.

Since going home after a lengthly affair with natalie, Kevin has done nothing but bark at Sally and try to control things. He had her inheritance spent within hours of her mother's death. She's been changed by being abandoned, and then the fling with Chris, which Kevin uses as a weapon against her. I'm surprised they've lasted this long, being back together. I don't quite get why she's latched onto Greg , having been so level headed about Chris. He has a vague look of Chris about him so maybe it's that. She could do better than Kevin at this stage now anyway. He comes across as a little runt , always mouthing off.
