Bet is the star of the show! I always look forward to seeing her outfits, her hair, and especially her jewellery. The blouse and gold and ruby jewels on Christmas day were spectacular, not to mention her brilliant repartee. My other favourites are randy Reg and dippy Raquel.

I feel a bit sorry for Mavis sometimes. Its so obvious she considers Rita her best friend but as far as Rita is concerned her best friend is Bet and Mavis gets a few crumbs of attention if she is lucky. Mavis is actually the one who supported Rita the most during the Alan saga and was the only one who was worried when Rita vanished. She also holds the shop together whenever Rita fancies taking time off.
@plokijm22

Not only that, but Rita is a bad person all round. When Bet is about to lose the Rovers a few years after this (1995, I think), Rita basically leaves her in the crap and lets her disappear without even seeing if she is okay.

2:02:00 what is she mad at mike for?!?!? For being banned from seeing his own child?? The one he was desperate to know? The one he WANTED to be a father to? He tried EVERYTHING to be a father to Mark. Why on earth is Derdrie mad at mike because Ken holds a childish obsessive grudge against mike? It makes less than no sense. She is ridiculous I’m about to give up on Corrie at this point and go back to the beginning. Back when it was good, made sense and wasn’t filled with messaging on the trendy social issue of moment. This is supposed to be an entertaining show not a public service announcement. The messaging is heavy handed and obvious and is ruining the show. (I ended up on a completely different topic than I started on. Oops, I went on a little rant) One more thing….lens keeps saying mike “tried to take Derdrie from him” ummm, she is not a toy. He wasn’t trying to take something from you, Ken. He loved a married woman and wanted to marry her himself. He cared NOTHING about Ken. His love for Derdrie was nothing to do with Ken. On the other hand, Ken is obsessed with Mike. His obsession rules his entire life. It’s pathetic, sad and gross

Some script writing errors in this month. .. At - 41.30 Deirdre looks surprised and shocked when she sees maggie ,as though she remembered her from when she was with Mike Baldwin,and yet she had never seen her before. .. And later Ken is horrified about finding out Maggie was with Mike,.. although he actually met Maggie with Mike at least once ,.. like here in this episode July 12th 1982,at -8.58. .. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htiXh8Ry17itpGw.html .. Plus they say his son Mark is 11,..and he can only be 9 here in Dec 1992,...as he was born around the middle of 1983

Ummmm we all saw the episodes with Maggie. She decided to leave Mike when he said NO to giving her $5000 for her flower shop and the old man she ended up marrying would give her the money. After that, she got depressed and angry and convinced herself it was about anything but that money. It WAS about the money. Mike said no, the other guy said yes. She was selling herself and her child for $5000 and I’m sick of hearing her, on her high horse, say otherwise. It makes me crazy

Raquel and Phyllis are hysterical in the charades scene 🤣 Wonder if the ladies weren’t told what she was miming til they went for the take 🤷‍♂️ You forget that the Christmas Day eps were probably recorded about late October so it might be tricky for the cast to act all jolly and festive unless their characters are actually having a fun time, and depending on the number of takes required, having to sit and eat several Christmas dinners at like 8.30am lol 😂

Someone commented that new hairdresser Denise was like Elsie Tanner, looks, character etc They werent wrong! But i think the producers knew exactly why Denise would fit in to Corrie! Shes a carbon copy of Elsie! Id guess the viewing figures of Corrie were already failing by this time! Steph had left Dez so no more fireworks there Terry Duckers in the nick so the Bad Lad of Corrie is out of the picture Mike has settled down with Alma Deirdre & Ken have ironed things out & are friends The MacDonalds are so so Mave & Derek are old hat No trauma for Rita Alec has gone, Bett reverts to her pre Alec days Audrey is behaving herself Kev & Sal are boring Curley & Ange are...? So all in all, its getting abit staid Characters are becoming predìctable so the storywriters Are trying to inject life back into the show! They probably looked back over past episodes when ratings were sky high & found Elsie was the biggest draw Enter Denise.. I know the outcome of Denise due to an other programne showing Kens relationships But i think the rot started to set in the latter half of 1992 & really from now to 2000 when i stopped watching it just went limp boring & miserable with terrible characters, no humour & bad acting. So sad. Cheers 🇬🇧👧

Does anyone know the real life street name for the Hortons address(supposedly in Blackpool) about 3 hours and 54 minutes in. I'm fascinated in filming locations and I live near Blackpool if anyone knows what street it is I'd be grateful.

Isn’t it the guy who can be heard in the background on the phone during Curly & Des’s scene after he hangs up? Does sound strange with him not in shot though!

i think they call it a sound pick up where they add audio in to boost a scene up.

I dont think i ever saw these 1992 episodes of Corrie, way back. However i know ive seen the actress who plays Carmel but i don't know from where! I dont watch much tv much & havent done so for a long time so i cant puzzle out where ive seen "Carmel" she must have been in some other tv programme but i really cant remember If anyone knows id be pleased to know, its so frustrating trying to remember a persons face & placing into context I keep thinking of a tv series called Angels, about nurses & this was probably around the late 1980s or early 1990s Problem is, i think i only ever watched 2 episodes, not long enough to fix someones face & accent in my recollections! Cheers 🇬🇧👧

Gee, I wonder why that Denise wears those big shirts, that go down to her knees? I hope the writers don't make her out to be some femme-fatale, that men just can't resist, and pair her up with men, that wouldn't give her a second look, in real life.
