It'll end in good time. The character of Pat Phelan needs a fitting ending, not an exit out of nowhere.

His exit should have been on December 15, 2016, when he was attacked with a brick. He should have died. That would have been fitting. We knew then that he was capable of bad things, and this was before his character was stretched so thin. I would probably like Pat as a villain if he died that way. It would have shown that the writers knew when to get rid of a character.

In my opinion Phelan's exit should've been due to Andy getting his revenge, after spending all them months in Pat's cellar. However due to that not happening, allow Phelan to commit a couple more crimes, resulting in Gary finally giving Pat his comeuppance. When you think about it Gary is the only appropriate person to end Phelan's reign of terror, as that is when the Pat Phelan character was born back in 2014 (terrorising Gary, Owen and Anna).

Oh, if Andy comes back from the dead one last, rising out of the river as "O Death" plays that would be awesome. He would stop in a church and yell (at god) "why won't you let me die?" and he'll decide that he can't die because he has to fulfil his purpose, which is to end Phelan. He would exact a Shakespearean revenge, that would lead to Phelan's demise. Think MacDuff killing Macbeth. Then, I could forgive the shittiness.

They were lucky, one of the "Back From The Dead" scenes was when Jack Abbott on Y & R found out that Victor Newman was alive. When he thought he was "Dead" Jack got Jabot back for his Father and took over Newman Enterprises with an Iron Fist. When Victor was alive Jack was worse off after than before. His Father no longer owned Jabot, and Victor was still The Man but in 1999 he got The Company back for his Father.
