Apologies guys but I've made a cock up somewhere in the middle of this month, in that I've put a couple of episodes in the wrong order! It would take too long to sort it now so if you'll forgive me I'll leave it how it is! Sorry for the error, that's what comes when you rush it! lol Eve :-)

No one else has commented on this so far but IMHO there is absolutely no on screen chemistry between Mike and Linda. Mind you, Linda is not the kind of character you warm to. For the first time in my Corrie history, I feel sorry for Mike. He should have stuck with Alma and allowed some of Alma's niceness to rub off onto him. 😄

@susannahayward6861 I agree with you. Mike Baldwin and Alma were suited together. If Alma and Mike stay together Alma may have encouraged Mike and Ken to bury the hatchet because Ken Barlow and Alma seem to get on all right.

Where was Jack and Vera in the Millenium episode? They said they were visiting grandkids but they should've been in the episode. It was such a landmark one. That remembrance bit with Ken, where was Ena Sharples, Len Fairclough, Minnie Caldwell, Martha? And surely Bet Lynch should've made an appearance at the concert.....even a fleeting one.

Me too Rosey. All year I've been catching up on Corrie from the mid-1970s and I'm totally in tune with Eve about the deterioration of the characters and the storylines since the start of the 1990s. But there is always something and or someone that keeps me watching - I just keep saying to myself "one more month ..." and so on it goes. x

She looked at me horrified & Said " oh mum thats very naughty saying that" I looked at her puzzled & said i didnt understand what id said that offended her.. She said " well, you swore, said a very bad word... you said .. Ken Barlow dressed up in a Sherlock Holmes get-up is very appropriate. I must say he derserves to be called the Sherlock Holmes of Manchester. When everybody thought Aiden Critchley killed Maxine three years later Ken conclude that it was not possible because Ken never saw Aiden C. talk to Maxine. Ken only saw Aiden talk to the two females Sarah and Candice.

I think it was about a way of life, about a very different and one could say more naive time. That generation of actors were trained differently and were part of a different comedic/off the cuff almost like a vaudeville routine. The humour of the Bet Lynches and the Rita's and the Vera's and Elsie's would, I'm sure go over alot of heads. It wouldn't be considered PC at all either. So much changed on the Street, yes, there were very serious storyline back then, but the whimsy disappeared and the banter is missed, and the good writing.

In addition to Jez Quigley being the Gripper Stebson of Manchester Jez Quigley looks like he could be Gripper Stebson's brother. Gripper Stebson's real name was Norman. Norman Stebson was the arch bully in the popular school drama Grange Hill for those of you who are too young to remember.

In the second episode on January 2000 all we have seen is Curly (Norman Watts) and his ex-wife Raquel. We have not seen any of the other characters. Furthermore the second episode has gone on for more thatn half an hour.

From March 1961 to Kevin's wedding 2000 that brings the total to 50 weddings in one street bit unrealistic.

You have to count the unrealistic amount of weddings per person too! Deirdre has had 1 ray langton 2 ken barlow 3 samir rachid & a future 4th to Ken again Then theres Gail.. 1) brian tilsley 2 brian tilsley 3 martin platt 4 ? Mcintyre 5 hillman 6 rodman That's 10 weddings from 2 people! There are probably more serial marriage merchants but i cant think offhand! Cheers 🇬🇧👧

@@itallia666 Its against the law in Corrie to be single also you have to go to Blackpool for a holiday.

@@briangatt2956 Haha! Actually i really like Blackpool! I know it sounds pathetic but i often take off from up here in Newcastle, hop on the Blackpool coach & in a few hrs im there, i stay at the same place & just pootle about & enjoy myself! Im not a drinker or anything but like walking, discovering new places & on the tram to Fleetwood! Its odd because ive travelled the world, lived in 5 different countries, holidays in far flung places but theres nothing so relaxing than my trips to Blackpool & no one bothers you Either, its a safe haven for me. Eating fish & chips on the Prom Munching Blackpool rock, im a novelty rock fiend! Lol I don't think anyone over the age of 15yrs has stayed single in the street! Even Emily has had 2 marriages Nearly 3 but her vicar did a runner Poor Curly must be the most unlucky in love! The writers need to inject some romance into the poor guys life but hopefully & God forbid its NOT Kimberlaa Taylor again... shudder It always amazes me how Gail clocked up so many marriages She is quite cute but very neurotic!! Do you know if Rita marries again? Also Audraaa & Alma? I watched the very 1st Corrie from oct 1960 ( think in real time i was 6yrs old but remember the very old ones well) Its taken me months of everyday viewing to get to year 2000! Its been a gas! Really enjoyable Ive even grown to like Janice Toyah & Leanne Battersby but Les? Nah! Cheers 🇬🇧👧
