Wait, goated Idea. Put a bunch of these with garbage catchers in the garbage patches, and run cables, like the internet cables.

How many years of electricity does it need to generate to pay for itself? How much does it cost to hire divers for repairs? Will the barnacles and waves wear off the paint a little bit?
