She wasn't just laying in the forest. When he put the ring on her finger, she (her soul, really) materialized. She wouldn't have known all the dead people had she just been laying there. She WAS wearing her gown in the afterlife as she waited on her husband to arrive

Looking at this question as a Witcher 3 player: She wasn't at peace after being murdered by Barkis. She was essentially a gentler version of a nightwraith and was in a way cursed. Been awhile since I played the witcher 3 wild hunt, I could be getting the name wrong.
