This helped me so much, I wanted to buy an RX 480 8 GB with uses a 8 pin connector, and I need a 8 pin for my CPU and I only saw one on the PSU, so I thought I needed an entirely different one, but now I know I don't! Thanks!

@@elpaulo6513 it's been good to be for about 2 months now, I'm running a relatively weak build but everything's been overclocked and is now running full load 24/7 without instability. I'd say if your just looking for a budget power supply for gaming on a low to mid range pc this is definitely a good option.

One question about the flexibility of the 24-pin ATX cable: Is it flexible? I ask because the routing of my current PSU's ATX cable, to assist airflow and access, goes through a little compartment that's open on both sides, which was probably accomplished by folding the connector parallel to the cable and pushing it through; I will have to reverse that process to take it out. Can I do the same with this PSU? If not, I suppose it'd be no big deal to leave it out; it'd be nice to be able to secure it out of the way, though. From the looks of the connector/cable and how far that consolidation band is from the connector, it doesn't look like routing it in the way I've mentioned will be possible, so I will be looking for ways to secure it, if at all possible. It would be optimal to keep it out of the way of my hard drive bay area, because I'll be putting another one in in April. :)

just built my first PC ever and used this psu, nice build quality and the modular cables make it easy but I am encountering random rattle noises, other than being annoying as hell do u think a fan rattle from the psu is harmful?

OK be aware of this, got louder and louder, sounds like a tractor, going back to the supplier for a replacement, maybe I got a faulty one, but if you are building a new pc don't risk it and go for a more premium product.

James James the CX series has never been the best, but for regular use, and not overclocking, I would definitely say it's good. But if you can, step into the RM series. Put together your parts on pcpartpicker.com and it'll tell you the required wattage. Go about 100 or slightly more over that and you'll be good!

Ryan Clemons1 yeah overclocking a graphics card is fine! I just wouldn't mess With the voltages too much as the voltage regulators are not the best. But basic overclocking on gpu? Sure!:)

your power supply wont really effect your performance at all, the biggest factor is having a unit that is #1: high enough wattage #2: durable and #3 peripherally pleasing (looks good and makes no noise). beyond that, an i5 and a 1060 will probably never hit more than 300 watts total power draw. I'm currently running a CX550m with an i7 6700k water cooled and oc'd to 4.8 ghz, a sapphire r9 fury tri-x overclocked (a power draw monster) 16 gb of ddr4 and multiple fans/ drives installed and the most power draw ive ever seen out of it is 380 watts. you shouldn't worry too much ;D

My cx650m am curenly use is a replacement, coz my 1st only last for a week 😑, so it makes me worry about its durability, and lot ppl in internet say cx series got cheap component so i get more worry, but it have 5 years waranty tho... am just need to be sure it wont broke other pc part...

faisal rahmat it is a tier 3 power supply. Which means it's not of the highest quality. It doesn't have great voltage regulators so don't go overclocking your CPU. Though your 6500 it perfect for that. And make sure your system wattage under load is about 50%-60% the wattage of the power supply. That way it won't overheat and the components won't be under major load. With your system you should be fine:) Again, not the best power supply out there. But it's fine for you. Any lower quality and I would be concerned. :)

How about showing us which cable goes where? It is great that cables are provided and go into the psu, but WHERE? Which cable goes in which hole? Don't forget, we're not all born knowing this info and Corsair also seems to assume you do. YOU"RE WRONG!

Calm down a bit brother, you’re always welcome to ask questions. :) the one 4 pin connector on the pay is for the graphics card power 2x 6+2 pin connectors). The three 6 pin ports on the psi let you plug in any other cable. You can plug every maxillae cable into the psu at once.

@@Beeeyeee It's just that the PSU directions don't show this and the tech from Corsair made absolutely no sense. I'M SORRY you paid the price. The Corsair compatibility chart seemed to talk about "Type 3" cables. What are they? Mine say "Type 4." Also, the PCIe cable fits in only one place and can't be broken into 4+4. It has nothing to do with the CPU as labeled, either. Lastly, since all the PCIe 6+2 have been accounted for, what goes in the slot marked "PCIe 6+2"?
