Dude thank you so much for this informative video, legit exactly what I was looking for. I'm building a new pc, and bought the 5000d airflow. I was trying to figure out if it was possible to connect the usb from the commander xt to the pro, so I wouldn't have to use both usb ports on the motherboard. Going to be using 7 case fans plus the 3 on the radiator, so managing the cables is gonna be a bit of a challenge. Again thank you for going into detail about everything, appreciate it.

I just switched form a Phanteks Entoo Primo into a Corsair 7000X with the Commander Core XT. I swapped out all the stock fans for Arctic Bionix P140's and wanted to see what the controller would offer in terms of fan control. Up to this point, I've been using motherboard PWM headers and a program called "Fan Control" (literally...) to adjust fan speeds. And I gave the Commander Core a shot. The Commander Core XT did a very good job on the lighting when I plugged in the stock fans for testing - basically what you'd expect from Corsair - but the iCUE fan control options compared to FC's capabilities make it look like fan control was more of an afterthought for iCUE. It's actually a shame Fan Control can't recognize the controller and get the readouts from the T Probes. Excellent for controlling RGB though. Might get a bunch of RGB strips instead and mount them to the ceiling and set them to white to illuminate the chassis interior of the 7000X, since other than mobo and GPU lighting (mobo LED's disabled, GPU set to static white), nothing else is visible through the smoked glass. Gives it an industrial look.

Very nice! Currently I have a 5000t, and everything controlled through two commander core XTs. I don’t need the fans to spin too fast to move a lot of air, so the cores controlling the fans for me is fine, I’d love to hear more about the program you use to control your fans, though. I could use it on one of my test rigs.

So dumb question, but by using an ARGB to Corsair adapter, it will show up/work in iCue? What if you plug an ARGB Hub into it?
@RTC1200
@RTC1200 Жыл бұрын
In the Corsair ICUE, you need to configure it to a device that has RGB LEDS equal to the ones your device has. An example, is your ARGB light strip connected to ICUE through the adapter, has 20 ARGB LEDs, you need to find a device in ICUE that also has 20 RGB LEDs and yes, plugging in a hub will work. Works for me at least.

Hmm, does your motherboard have two USB 2.0 Ports? From what I’m seeing all you have to do is plug both of them in at the same time. You can have all of your fans PWM controlled through the commander core (splitters if needed) and 6 of the RGBs through the commander core, and 3 of the RGB through the Lighting node core. Also, thanks for liking the video. :)

My build consists of 13 RGB Corsair fans ( 8 in the front, 3 on top connected to H170 AIO and 2 in the rear. Hmm, you could have a two commander core XTs controlling 10 QL fans, and on you could use splitters on the last 2 PWM connectors on the second Core XT to control your MLs. And if your MLs have RGB, you can connect an RGB HUB to the Core XT to control the RGB of your MLs. Right now I have two Commander Core XTs controlling a small mixture of different fans I have. Great video man. I need clarification on a couple things though. I will be using a 4000X case that comes with just the lighting node core. My plan is to get a commander core and simply add a few more SP Elite fans for now. I noticed on Corsairs website it states the commander core does not support the SP Elite fans, and is this true? Also, if the commander core cannot control the RGB on the SP Elite fans, can I get a commander pro and install the USB 2.0 from the lighting node core into it that way I can have control over the RGB and speed of the fans from one source plugging into the motherboard?

@@RTC1200 thanks for the reply. I’m building a rig for my nephew so I’m kinda trying to stay in a budget, but I don’t want to cheap out either. I built my rig with a 5000X case so it had a lighting node and fan hub already. At the time I thought it would be fine to run the fan hub off the optional CPU fan header so it basically mimics the CPU demands. But, since then I think having control of the case fans would be better since the games I play are not necessarily demanding on the CPU and will not command the case fans very high. My plan at this point is to build my nephews rig and use a commander core XT. Then I will most likely get one for my rig along with some QL fans. It just sucks because they are so expensive, but they look really good.

I bought all this junk, only to realize in the end it was only good for controlling the RGB in in iCUE... and only when you were in Windows. All the fans.. you actually want to control them from the FAN headers on your motherboard (not USB)... from the BIOS fan curves in well.. BIOS. Not ICue or Windows, which is not always running. Like, whenyou're booting up, or in Linux, or... well in a BIOS screen figuring things out.

I remember I wasn’t able to use my Capellix for a little while because I needed a new commander CORE. I wish that Corsair made an alternative to powering the Capellix.

A good overview.. as it seems like you intended. But you gotta stop tilting down the camera every time you are showing the products.. One time is fine.. But dont use an affect more than once in the same video.. unless it is a video long enough to support it... I gave you a thumps up.. :- ) (But it is almost a thumbs down because of the tilting)..

Thanks for your opinion, it’s unfortunate that you did not like the low camera pans. And it’s okay if you dislike the video, everyone likes different things, and also dislike different things. :)

Nice try, but I still don't understand. Corsair had this too much complicated.
