Matt's C6 Z06 Corvette is awesome and one of the best parts about it is, he drives the absolute HELL out of it. This isn't a parking lot or car show queen kind of car, you know the ones, that buy all kinds of go fast parts in order to impress or score show/scene points. This C6 spends a good portion of it's run time on track, pushing to the limits of tires/suspension/traction and sometimes beyond. Unfortunately for Matt he had hit a limit to what the factory style suspension could handle so it was time for a full coilover conversion.
Anyone who has spent time on our channel KNOWS we do a LOT of suspension work, in fact custom suspension is a big part of our daily duties. Whether it's lowered cars, custom muscle cars or lifted trucks and jeeps there's pretty much not a day that goes by we don't have at least one on our alignment rack. That includes racecar alignments and often includes corner balancing! Maximizing balance and traction, dialing in the available components to the best of their abilities, really make a huge difference in a race car. After this major suspension surgery on Matt's Z06 C6 we knew there was going to be a lot of work dialing it back in. But as with most things we've run into on these cars, this was even more extensive than expected!

so how much does this tedious all day alignment/corner balancing thingy cost?

Lol that's a VERY good question. Typically speaking it's usually "about" 3-4 hours worth of work but depends a lot on the baseline we start from and the components used. So roughly speaking the average would be $330-$440 labor wise

@@LucoreAuto Would using them as ammo for a trebuchet count? That initial whip as the sling takes the ammo off the slide then a sharp 80 to 90 degree turn followed by a good hundred yards of flight... ...all warranty's are void half a second before impact however.

Nice! Should handle a bit nicer now, he using it for drag/street or is it for the time trials races you guys showed a bit back? Looks like it could go either way. Other than the paint it's the same car I drove/raced last (not my own car), curious to know the horse power but if he's a track/street guy I doubt that information is available to the general public. ;-)

It's a "street" car that sees mostly road racing use. This car is a LONG way from stock suspension wise and an absolute monster in the twisties. Definitely not a drag car, he likes having more than 11 seconds of fun at a time ;)

@@IBAUCLAPlaya This would be the owner I take it? =) Nice car man, looks like it could chew a road course up pretty good. The one I drove was flat black and had a bit more than double what your running (depending on boost, i think it was capable of around 1500 hp or more tho we could never turn it up that much) but it was also built to go in a straight line. Or as close to one as possible anyway... =) I miss that car but I miss my 74 Camaro more, it was mine... even if it didn't have that much under the hood.

@@Loki13M thanks. Yeah it’s fun...unfortunately last oil analysis leading me to think rods are on verge of failure so considering going forged bottom end maybe 442 stroker should be good for 600/550+. Would love to be able to boost but too hard to keep it cool on road coarse.

That there is a very sophisticated and technical piece of equipment with thousands of in shop uses. Works for everything from propping hoods open to convincing reticent customers into paying their bill with equal finesse.
